I play like this:
  • Are there many archers online, I play with my shield character
  • If there are more horses and / or AGI whores Infantry, then I come with my archers
  • And when there are many Player have a shield, I play with my two-handed character or with shield

And archer suggesting to "re-balance" archer and give "serious nerfs" to the other ranged classes while also classing infantry and cavalry as overpowered. Not biased at all :lol:

In what way ? A shield isn't much use when you get shot left and right yet need to come closer to be effective.

well just today I respecced my alt which I use to retire and sell LP's to an archer (I played 2h/pole with him) it was just too much

As long as there will be a reason to flood the server with ranged even more when it is already flooded with it, I will not be happy. If they have no reason to go ranged STF then they won't do it. This flexibility makes it very clear when there is an issue. which is a good thing because it tends to make it fixed faster.

Translation: Ranged must be made so useless that nobody wants to play it, nothing less is acceptable  :rolleyes:

All I want are the unloomed bows to be reverted and maybe Rumblood's idea about STF's. People who suck just QQ'd so hard about unloomed bows being bad that they got it! I used unloomed bows and it was so easy, people on their first, second, or third gen doing archery were ok. Typical cRPG balance though.

It's not about useless it's about basic population dynamics.

Ranged must work in a way that makes people play it when there are many natural prey to ranged on the server : shieldless inf mostly.

And it must also be made in a way that when there is many ranged around, the best choice is not to bring your own ranged alt. But currently it clearly is.



Right now there are so many ranged that it attracts nothing but more ranged, hence why the servers are depopulating with everything else. It's not about making ranged useless as a whole, but making it less useful than other classes when the amount of ranged on the server is already too high, just as people get pikes to deal with cav stacks, heavy weapons and shield breakers to deal with shielders, and ranged to deal with other infantry. Classes that are not ranged are easily dealt with and actually detrimental to a team when there is too much of them. This is the reason a team full of 2h or full of cav or full of shielders it hardly a problem for the enemy team, as 2h and shielders have rather strong hard counters, and cav is generally useless unless when the enemy is distracted by other units.
