A high ping has different reasons. I never experience it myself, but it seems a lot of you guys do.
First, distance is important, if you use wifi, the best thing to do is have your pc in the same room as your router. Even better is using a cable directly connected to your router, don't use any hubs or switches. There are different kind of cables, i recommend a normal TP-cable, but if you want to be sure other network/electricity cables don't interferrence with your cable, buy a STP.
next thing to do is have a look at your network. How many users are sharing your internet connection? and how intensive? downloading, streaming and uploading is a huge pain for your ping.
an other reason for a high ping is your ISP. Maybe their network is experiencing heavy use or something else.
sometimes releasing your IP helps, just go with cmd -> ipconfig /release and to reenable it -> ipconfig /renew. i also clear my dnscache -> ipconfig /flushdns
In your router itself you can specificaly set privileges for each device connected to your network.
a last common reason is a bad configured firewall, anti-virus, malwarescanner or a kind of virus/infection itself.
Hope it helps.
ps: tracert won't give much information, i'm 99% sure the servers are okay
