I personally know no one who celebrate either father or mothers day. Meaningless day. If you have to dedicate a day to show appreciation for your parents then idk buddy.

probably differs between countries, we usually buy flowers or other small gifts and cook for our mums here, it´s super rude to completely ignore that day, so the absolute minimum is a phone call

I can get behind a phonecall, and yeah probably most to do with the country and family to family of course. It's not really any big deal here, never hear any commercials about it either, I do hear fathersday sometimes, but how often are men's clothing stores gonna sell belts and ties?
