Permanent referees for EU3/NA3?

Since Panos started the 1v1 tournament, he also came up with the idea of having referees for the matches. Obviously a good choice for a tournament environment but what about having some around all the time and not just during some event?

We had a few threads lately about people making a bet on the outcome of a duel. Bjord vs Firebus and I recall something Guy came up with tho that wasn't... well... anyway...

So, I was wondering if we should organize some community referees who would be "officially" accepted by the community as neutral and unbiased?

It would be just a thread with a list of people who are willing to do that. Maybe a sticky-thread even?
Give those referees the commander-chat colour on EU3/NA3 and whenever 2 people wanna fight something out, they announce it in the thread or contact those refs directly via pm/steam and got themselves a witness and someone who tries to make "official" and "unbiased" decisions.

It then enables you to make "LOL I KILLED ________ AND _______ WAS REF! I GOT WITNESS!"-threads

They wouldn't be online all the time but only when requested for duels which have something on the line like gold/items/e-peen size.

It's more about the possibility to have someone neutral.

tbh most of the guys are decent folk and play by the rules, having people bothered on Steam because somebody "disconnected in the middle of a ranked duel" seems unnecessary

A rather pointless argument since you don't have to apply for the "job" if you feel bothered by it...

I love helping with the tournament reffing the matches and will do it in the future for sure if Panos continues with the tourneys, but I certainly see no sense in having official refs on EU3, we do have ppl called admins and devs who can make things like theft etc. right but like in last couple of "incidents" it's a gentlemans agreement to duel and pay up nobody can force people to pay up if they decide to be a douche, peer pressure is much better at that than the ref

I'd volunteer to be a CRPG referee as long as i would get a special made white shirt with black stripes referee shirt.

I am just saying that the duels would be very volatile and incidental. Anyway i dont know how this ref thing would work, since it might be a little difficult to find people that want to do it, is 100% objective and active.

Native duels are awesome, even if the mechanics are way out of whack it's still really fun. Make a mistake and boom your done! You and I both know that duels between players who know how to fight is just a matter of endurance and boredom in cRPG, and i'm not saying they should change it to make it 'faster' because the way it is right now is great for battle mode. If everyone on EU/NA3 was forced to wear a tunic, however, that would make for a very very interesting spectacle- to see the changes in peoples performances
