Same amount of ranged players, just 80% less melee players

Last time I played there were 8 melee players in my team, 30 in total, rest was some sort of ranged or playing cav like me. If the walls would be accessible for my horse I could play on Eu2 aswell to avoid all the ranged

Even though it might seem unfair - just nerf them. If there are too many players using one class, there is sth wrong with it. Nerfing it is the easiest way of reducing the amount of ranged, whilst good players will stick to the class they always played so it only affects the "class hoppers" that made a stf/new character because of this ridicoulus wpf buff.
Reduce their ammo, damage, accuracy or the capability to fight against melee/cav - for example limit zero slot weapons to hammer, pickaxe and this stuff again or change all 0 slot weapons that have a stab back to one slot (no matter if i run around on a mamluk or fight an archer while i am dismounted, the stabs are hitting way too heavy due to the speed bonus you get out of all the athletics).
For Xbows you could change the arbalest to 3 slots, so they lose their good melee abilities in order to keep the possibility to one shot ppl - this would finally make the Heavy Crossbow more attractive, as it gives you a high damage output, enough to kill damaged enemies or oneshot if you hit the head, and still allows you to carry a decent melee weapon.
Once they are nerfed there will be less of them, and in case ranged became too weak and nearly nobody plays it, well, give it a slight buff again which makes it better, though not as good as it used to be, everyone who played an online game should be used to this optimizing cycle by now, there are enough suggestions that can be used, but just do something, because right now eu1 is dying day by day.
