Get rid of night time on Battle server

So, a lot of us are actually playing Battle server now, since Strategus is gone for a bit.  I've noticed there's a disproportionate amount of night time.  The last 5 maps I've played have been night time.  I have my gamma all the way up, and auto-exposure on, but its still too dark.  I have to play in windowed mode, since this game doesn't support 2560x1440 with Large Font Scaling under Windows 7, as there are cursor issues, so that's probably making it worse.

This isn't like rain or fog. Night time causes real technical issues with people's PC's, which directly affects the gameplay for some and not others. "Immersion" is not enough of an excuse to maintain a feature that causes some players to be severely penalized in relation to others without class or other gameplay choices being any part of it. It is all about the gaming computer that you can afford. Don't penalize people because they are poor. Its ridiculous. I dont like having an advantage over people simply because I'm well off.

Well, its funny you say that.  My computer beastly, actually, too beastly.  I run too high of a resolution for the game to handle properly with certain Windows settings.

I could lower my resolution, which is stupid because I've paid so much for my stuff or turn down font scaling and not be able to read anything the rest of the time.  Neither are very good options.

there is a way how to remove night by modifying one text file in game directory, not that i know which one and i am not sure if this isnt some sort of cheating ( not that i do it)

Every map needs to be as dark, rainy, and full of shadows as possible to promote maximum eyestrain.


Especially during the daytime when you have glare.

I play Windowed but maximized.  M&B is weird about mouse focus when you alt+tab.  If I played truly windowed, the contrast of the dark game with brighter elements (ie web browser) would actually make the situation worse.
