Archers miss a lot man -- it's not like they can 3 shot everyone.  It sometimes takes like 10 arrows to hit someone 3 times.

I made a STF archer recently because I wanted to get in on the degenerate gay sex orgy.

With 18/18 and rus bow/bodkins it's really hard-hitting, accurate to 50-75m, and effective in melee. I survive to the end of the round pretty often since I can stay at a safe distance and if I can get to a good position it isn't hard to get several kills without dying. If I get in a circlejerk with my archer teammates it's ridiculous how effective we are. Like a machine gun nest or roving death squad.

Personally I don't have any problem dodging arrows and think that throwers are way, WAY more annoying so I don't really care if archers get nerfed. But I can see how someone else might want a nerf, especially if they're from EU where there are more quality archers.

Do you enjoy playing battle and siege nowadays? I mean, you get hit before you enter the castle. When you entered the second arrow hits. Then you can kill about 1-2 ppl before you get killed by the next arrow. And when you check where it came from you can see a guy standing on top of a tower, unreachable for melee players.

Throwers are close range, they need to risk their lives for a hit by standing still and they are reachable by foot. Also the damage is okay, it's pretty realistic you can't walk anymore when someone throws a jav through your leg. Imo throwers are the most balanced class at this moment.

You just defined the purpose of "ranged". Not melee, not close combat. Weakening, hurting, demoralizing and even sometimes killing enemy fighters BEFORE they reach the walls or even friendly infantry. It works like that (otherwise: duel server).

"Unreachable" however is the usual "my sword is bigger than my brain" logic - play siege and you will see a lot of clever melee guys  finding a backladder, sneak up to that tower and murder the archer in his pewpew-trance...
