Memories of Strat 4

Post your favorite memories or parts of strat 4 :D Mine clearly is my run as lord of Wessex :D Also im bored so i raped a speech from one of my favorite films (anyone who guesses the film doesn't get a LP get out jews)

I address you tonight not as the King of the Wessex, not as the leader of a country, but as a citizen of humanity. We are faced with the very gravest of challenges. chadz calls this day Reset -the end of all Strat. And yet, for the first time in the history of the Calradia, a species has the ability to make its own experience. All of you playing with us need to know that everything that can be done to provide this experience is being called into service.

The human thirst for excellence, knowledge, every step up the ladder of looms, every adventurous reach into the marketplace all of our combined modern technologies and imaginations, even the wars that we've fought have provided us the tools to wage this terrible battle. Through all the chaos that is our history, through all of the wrong and the discord, through all of the pain and suffering, through all of our times, there is one thing that has nourished our souls, and elevated our species above its origins, and that is our courage.

The dreams of an entire game are focused this week on those brave souls traveling across Calradia. And may we all, citizens the world over, see these events through. God speed, and good luck to you."

Bring on strat 5! :D

Flag capping Reyvadin at beginning of strat - we went balls to the wall and attacked with almost 4K troops, which no one had done at the time as the rule of thumb was never to attack with more than 1800.  Huge percentage of our army and we fought for well over an hour and it came down to last 15 minutes with so many flags that kept be taking back up.  I think that was the most elated I heard anyone all strat before things became a lot more stale and familiar.  I know i was totally pumped after that fight.

Wolves action in north against Mercs, even if they were "slightly" inactive.

The goal of Strategus battles shouldnt be to deprive your enemies of players, but to have full roster both sides and have the gear/tactics/strategy win the day rather than lack of merc support.

When Druzhinas marched up north and took over Slezkh Castle (Wolves) and Reyvadin (Kapikulu). Oh my how Wolves struggled to get Slezkh Castle back.

Reconquest of Fenada was of course glorious.
I hope you guys get some sort of sticky balls deseases and smell like my armpits, sorry excusese for nolife fucking cunts you are.

DRZ sure fucked us then ,   But hey we got it back so i think that was alright. After all we had no clue where all the weak points were so for the first few battles we were pretty much attacking blind

And yeah heskey the last 2 castles wolves took from the mercs have been my highlight.  I was not there for the Jeirbe Castle siege but when i found out i started dancing , And i was at the end of my seat when we were fighting in Tehlrog Castle because i knew we could take it after we did better then 1.1 on the last one http://c-rpg.net/index.php?page=strategusbattlesarchive#!?page=strategusinfobattledetail&id=5098

I also liked this battle but not in the way you would think , The nords were about to take the fief from us then server crashed when it came back we broke all their stuff and they had no time to rebuild making us win. http://c-rpg.net/index.php?page=strategusbattlesarchive#!?page=strategusinfobattledetail&id=1544
I wanted an avatar as cool as the Nords ones, but I have no skill with Photoshop, or Illustrator or anything like that >:(

The most exciting moment in Strat 4 was the first castle siege. Nords made a tactical/political move so Mercs didn't expect this attack on Ismirala Castle. Then we saw an armed 1k army of Nords and all players around the castle basically bought everything they could. We had -2 equipment for a couple of hundreds and end of the battle we were naked and basically were looting everything. An epic and intense battle. Also really love how one of players on our side made suicide deaths to find a crossbow for me and then he brought one to me :D But anyway I gave it away to other crossbowman because I had jump out and destroy ladders as the fastest agi-whore

I remember Witchcraft using his magical spells to resurrect every soul in yruma castle when all the flags were capped and he was the only left alive inside a healing tent on top of the tallest keep and the enemy was walking right by him with 30 seconds left.  First time i saw magic work in crpg.

Wolves action in north against Mercs, even if they were "slightly" inactive.

This...

Ask anyone of the 12 guys ready to move out from Khudan that sunday evening, the scoutscwaiting in the north, the Kapikulus in podition in the Mechin-forest, the cotgs/baldes/OdE waiting on the left side of the sargoth river for the northern attack. The peasants of fisdnar trying hard to bring their forces in time to EU. In wolves ts - last preps were made and at midnight we all moved out. My first offensive campaign as a leader, we wrre all excited and nervous - you could touch the silence and the tension in the teamspeak. All in all over 20 armies involved and 4-5 scouts.

Again I thank all the guys in that campaign for their tireless effort and activity and determination - all or nothing - and we were pretty sure it would be nothing.

Quisutdeus, odyssues, woody - thanks for extremely good discussions and preps. Rafouin, Tervel, zac4O, Larvae,  Alimalia, Jony, Overlord,  Greenfresh - the generals thst made it happen (if I forgot anyone I blame my age)

Kapikulus stopping coalition reinforcements was perfect - Ozan - great movement on the map ;-)

Cotgs/OdE/Baldes/Farooq - charged Sargoth area with precision and determination.

War was more or less over in 2 weeks - 3 cities, 3 castles, 6 villages taken from the mighty mercs in that time (not sure about the exact number of fiefs - working a smartphone)

Easely my own best memory of strat 4 - shared with many others I should guess

Floating buildings and siege equipment that you could ride all over the map.

This was one of my favorite things ever. Attackers would build a catapult and then a chunk of wall or a peasant hovel would just hurtle off into the sky like an asteroid. Or charge the attackers, pushing them away from the castle.

irl something shorted on the shuttle and laika overheated and died within a few hours of liftoff and for a brief while one could look up to the stars and see a light shooting across the sky that was actually a warm dog corpse slingshoting about the earth at thousands of miles per hour which was arguably humanity's greatest achievement so far

The impossible but fruitful peasant defense of Yalen right at the beginning of round 4.

The impregnable defense of the front wall of Unuzdaq Castle.

The two castles captured with surprise roster at midday.

The Tshibtin warzone and its rich history.

The usefulness of Uxkhal's healing tents.

The 1v1 against a 1800 tickets army I flag-capped.

The one-shot breaches capture of Etrosq Castle by the Shu Han.

The successful raiding inside Crusader Alliance villages with one ragged lone wolf army.

The failed full plate raiding inside Coalition villages with multiple shiny armies.

The 100 000's of stolen goods and the 4 times I was caught and lost them all.

The persistent Kalmar Union campaign against Reindi Castle.

The 25 000 peasant army captured at Knudarr Castle.

I got 3 cool memories.

-My 1st encounter with strategus (i mean real one when i read how to play it and asked ppl). At that point Quincy Clan didnt exist there, but only on cRPG. I was just a lonely white dot on the map not knowing even 10% of the game. I took Etrosq Caslte. Here is the thread after that happened: http://forum.melee.org/strategus-general-discussion/well-done/

-Next is seeing like 30583095830563 GO armies "hiding" in the forest, i think left of Reindi Caslte. Amazing site!

- (This one is a bit biased but i rly think its worth mentioning) Seeing Quincy faction playing from the end of February 2013 till the end strat 4 only to grow in territory without a single war declaration or hostile action. This was the 1st time we even played strategus.
