Anyone got something on Blackguards? It's on Flash Sale right now and seems pretty interesting...

I'd highly appreciate comments from people who might have played it already.
Heard it's mediocre.

The fights are actually fun. Classic hexagon turn-based combat with nice effects on spells and stuff. Unfortunately you can't actually run around or anything but just hop from one location to the other... bummer really. You can't explore anything which wasn't evident when I checked all the trailer and stuff - at least those I found.

I enjoy it though cuz it's nice to have a game you can get in for half an hour and then just close it and be on your way. I kinda miss that with today's games: you can't just play for 10 minutes and stop w/o somehow missing out.

I wouldn't recommend to buy it tho - I enjoy it for very special reasons and probably barely anyone else will.

Yea, I am still thinking about DayZ but from what I've heard it doesn't even sound that fun.

Rust on the other hand seems to be the better DayZ with building when it's finished.

Buying Arma 3 was the biggest mistake I made this winter sale. All these fanboys made it sound like something had been improved since Arma 2.

Never really played ARMA 2 before so ARMA 3 in Wasteland mode was basically this.

- Spawn with a crappy pistol
- Even on full servers you walk around for 2+ hours and find nobody and then get shot down because you have a crappy pistol vs their ARs.
- Weird overall

Wut, Wasteland is one of the mods where it's easy as shit to find ARs. You might want to take a look into cars. Not that that has anything to do with ARMA 3 itself.

I have yet to try Breaking Point and Wasteland. But the main reason I got the game was because of the life mods that were really fun in Arma 2. I made a couple of people buy Arma 3 to play the life mods but the mods ended up being extremly grindy and the map being huge and every server full with french moonspeaking twats. Now thats the mod related issues with the game.

The game related issues:

- All the random unpredictable death causes from glitches and vehicles breaking down for absolutely ridiculous reasons. Example: We drove a car, and a APC crashed into us and our car broke down and their APC was untouched - Fair enough. We later on get the same APC-type and crash into an ATV, and our APC completely breaks down, engine and wheels broken. ATV is unharmed and drives away. Vehicles simply break down very easy, which is an issue since Arma 2.

- There's no holstering pistols anymore. Which is very important in Life mods.

- Maybe it's only me but the performance is shit, some of my friends experience the same thing. I can max out many other games but Arma 3 on lowest graphics I have 30 fps and it feels very unsmooth.

- The animations haven't really been improved that much, you still do retarded things like holding invisible pistols and other things, and the movement feels very boxy.

Perhaps the mods will improve by time or more mods will come out. I never bought the Arma games to play them vanilla.

no comment on this one, never had something like that happen though

You could holster pistols in Arma 2? What exactly do you mean by holstering? Lowering your gun? Because you can do that (double CTRL)

- Maybe it's only me but the performance is shit, some of my friends experience the same thing. I can max out many other games but Arma 3 on lowest graphics I have 30 fps and it feels very unsmooth.

This is multiplayer yes? Multiplayer performance is largely up to how the mission is made (80% of wasteland missions have shit performance) and how the server is. Find a good mission on a good server and you won't have any FPS problems.

- The animations haven't really been improved that much, you still do retarded things like holding invisible pistols and other things, and the movement feels very boxy.

Invisible pistols never happened to me, not that I recall. This might be subjective, but movement feels tons better than Arma 2. A lot of people think it's much much smoother. Of course it's never going to be perfectly smooth because they want to keep some of the unsmoothness for dat realism feel.

Might have been a little harsh comment when I said nothing has been improved, because it has, but not as much as I hoped for. We're just mostly annoyed over all the minor frustrations that added up after some days of playing the life mods, ARMA 2 life mods were hilarious to play and this was a huge letdown.

Currently downloading Breaking Point however, and will try Wasteland also. Not giving up on ARMA 3 yet.

Okay i find arma 3 to be an epic improvement on arma 2 in every sense possible. Play the single player demos thru, look at just the different the sitting/crouching options we have now for shooting. The whole experience is vastly smoother and makes you realise what pure **** dayz is compared to what it could of been, if its truely just a standalone version of the mod using the arma 2 engine.
Smooth is the admin NA deserves. Not being that much better, EU deserves Thomek.
