Been A long time since i played

So i use steam first off. havent used this in years. last time i was on here it was a basic website with no images and just txt lol. so i got the downloader, and i patched, and i run it through the crpg launcher. problem is it tells me my character belongs to someone else. also i can login to the forums here, however i cannot login to the main website.any and all help would be appreciated.

It's a littlebit unclear for me.

So:
1. You use steam to start the launcher.
2. The last time you played cRPG, this website was just basic text, no images, etc.
3. You redownloaded the laucnher from the website and updated everything.
4. You cannot join a server because it tells you this character belongs to someone else.
5. You can login to this forum but not on www.c-RPG.net

I recommend to retrieve your account first.
login on www.c-RPG.net. Make sure it still exists and all your characters are fine.

no no, i own the game on steam but im launching i through the crpg launcher. and how do i retrieve my account? other than that your correct

If you know your account name (first character name you ever had), try to create a new character with a random name and join an official server (EU_cRPG_1 or something). The server will display a message with a 4 digit code. Use this code as password.
If you missed it press L.

If you have access to your account the next step should be contacting an admin (on irc for example) and determine wich cd-key is used with your account.
Then you have to change your current cd-key in the registry and insert the one that is used with your account.

To do this:
1. Press windows-key + R
2. type regedit and press enter
3. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER ---> Software---> Mount&BladeWarbandKeys ---> serial_key
4. Edit the key
5. restart pc (optional)

so how do i make a character with a different name? All i can use is New_Player. do i need to change my name in Steam? i had the cd key error once, but then i ran it through steam and i havent gotten that issue since. i am using the CRPG launcher though, not through steam
