A maintenance worker discovered the body while looking into complaints about the water pressure in the building. Guests had been drinking and bathing with water contaminated by a body that had been decomposing for nearly two weeks. So how did she get there? The Water Tower on top of the building was 15 feet high and locked. To gain access to said tower Lam would have had to of passed silently through two locked and alarmed doors first. Apparently she did so. All doors were still locked. No alarms were ever tripped. There are 100s of stories about this on the internet reported by every reputable news agency that there is. Some people say she was possessed or attacked by a ghost. If this is the case then this is the only known footage of such an occurrence.

She isn't scared, she is flirting with someone. Hiding in the elevator to prank him, jumping out, waving arms, that doesnt look scared at all, she's fooling around with a guy. A guy that probably has the keys to the hotel doors (manager, managers son, someone who stole the managers keys for fun, etc).

They then went up, had the shitty idea of taking a bath in the water tank, she died by accident, he got scared, removed her clothes and everything else in panic.

Maybe she is, maybe she isn't. That isn't normal behavior. It looks like she was expecting for the elevator to go up at the beginning. I very much doubt the only explanation is "she was talking to someone outside the camera."

I feel this movie is really about the poor elevator that gets mistreated by this girl. His confusion is almost palpable, and finally, the desperation is graspable, when he swallows his pride and stubbornly carries out his deeds, even when noone is actually in there. These are the everyday heroes on whose backs America has been built.

Most modern elevators will keep their doors open if someone holds or keeps pressing the "call elevator" button located outside of the elevator. There is also a button inside the elevator to keep doors open when pressed. Also when the doors close, if you press the call elevator button again before it starts moving, it will open the doors again. When I worked a game testing job on the 6th floor of an office building, people would always prank (annoy) a full group of people inside an elevator by either holding the "call elevator" button preventing doors from closing, or pressing the button right after doors close to make them open again. Funny at first, but it gets annoying fast when you just get off work or are trying to go to lunch.

Perfectly logical explanation to the "Most perplexing" thing about the video.

Hypothesizing on how she got through the locked doors doesn't seem all that hard without turning to supernatural ghosts or demons... They could have been left unlocked accidentally, and only reported as being locked because whoever responsible didn't want to get in trouble. Someone could have easily picked the locks if they knew what they were doing. Or she could have followed someone who had roof access.

While it seems foul play was involved. The official investigation sums it up to accidental death caused by a mental disorder.

It's strange behavior seen in the elevator footage... but ghosts and demons? puhleeze.
