Ahhh I still remember when I was there in 2004. Swimming there was really enjoyable. Need to redo that this summer!

ive been swimmging in the new donau at the georg stanzer weg a few years ago as well.  great summers day,  lots of cheap caned beer.  aaaah...

Toulouse , my cradle , The Capital of Occitania ! . Most commonly known as the Pink City , or "La Ville Rose", as most of its buildings back in the days (1500-1800) were built from local brick which had a pink teint.

I envy you - such a beautiful city. I did a project there during my university time. So many students, always good weather (at least from April to June when I was there) and friendly people if you don't try to talk English with them  :wink:

French not willing to talk in anything but French... that's the normal state for the whole country.

Had to make a scene with a dude at the airport once to make him tell me in English to which gate my flight was switched to. Freaking camenberts! :P

never had problems with people refusing to speak english in Paris, literally everybody knows the language and are willing to speak it. Ok there was an old arab dude down in Vitry that didn't really speak it but enough for me to buy stuff in his shop.

The French I've met have appaling language skills. But not as much as Spaniards or Americans. The thing is, French isn't widespread enough to justify it. Even though it's a poor justification anyway.
