No, he attacked Chaos.  He was likely trying to attack Lemon, but the fief was transferred before.  He should have spoken to Chaos about the situation. 

You can't transfer a fief while it's awaiting a battle.

I can confirm that lemon was owning the village at the time of the attack then Martian led it for some reason then lemon tried to escape because he didn't want to lose his precious 100 man troop fief.. that gobblins are going to take back any way.

It's not an opinion.  You can't transfer a fief once it's been attacked.  Lemon may have transferred it 1 second before the attack happened, but he could not have owned it when it was attacked (or it'd still be in his name).  I'm not saying Malta did anything wrong necessarily (if someone steals a fief, and then "sells/transfers" it right before I go to take it back, it's the fault of the party who bought it to have been more informed), just correcting a statement.

Yes you can transfer a fief when it's been attacked, but I believe it has to be in the reinforcement period.  When FCC was sieging Yruma I had to transfer it to Havelle a little while after they attacked it, so yes he very well could have just passed it off to Martian and then ran.
