The generic Roman faction which looked exactly like the generic Roman faction from Skyrim really radiates creativity.

The legion from FNV was orginially planned to be in van buren(go look it up) long before bethesda even made oblivion

They can't get a new engine. They ARE Gamebryo. I doubt they could make anything of value at all if you took it away from them.

Somebody said Fallout in Europe would be awfull but done right I'd love to see what happened on that side of the world.

In Fallout, Europe was a war-torn wasteland long before the bombs dropped in 2077

Sawyer had a dream game he always wanted to make called Fallout: Resource wars that was suppose to take place in pre-Great war(before the bombs dropped) Europe.


That being said, I don't think it would be a very good game, one of the things that make Fallout special is its 1950s American Sci-Fi theme

Prefer the storyline of F1 more (even though i'm a big Enclave lover).

Fallout 3 was fun for the time but the introduction and character creation sequence are the only parts that really stand out for me. I remember a lot of areas with razed concrete buildings and trawling through the subways. New Vegas was similar but I enjoyed it more because attributes and skill selections in dialogue trees seemed more prevalent and opened up a few more choices for solving an issue rather then just getting to chose how you're going to kill something. The faction relations and multiple endings I enjoyed because it allowed at least some semblance of role-playing, perspective and impact on the game world other then your motivation being that daddy ran away and you have to go find him, the background more or less let you fill in the blanks. That isn't to say a lot of it wasn't half-baked but at least playing a role was attempted it seemed, maybe I don't necessarily want to find the guy who shot me or chase after a dead-beat dad who basically caused a micro society of people to kill themselves.

On a side note they need to do something about open-world games where the story demands urgency to a situation but then you turn around and go for collectables for several in game days. I think Morrowind handled this fairly, a few times during the main story line the quest giver actually tells you to go off and do other things and it's woven into the story in a meaningful way.

yeah i loved the gritty dark humor in F2, only funny character in F3 imo was the commiedestroying over the top patriotic robot, well worth doing the mainquest just to hear these

The NV vs FO3 will never end. but even if NV is better, obsidian don't deserve full credit for basically remaking and improving a existing game. its not that hard to take a good game and improve it. fo3 was a new engine, new gameplay etc.

its like people saying pokemon silver is better than pokemon blue. Yes I suppose it is improved, but its basically the exact same formula, I always feel that a game should be appreciated for its originality at the time of release. ocarina of time is still a 10/10 because it was released in 1998, if it was released today I would give it a lower score.

NV came out 2 years after FO3, by then it wasn't that original or interesting.

Fallout 3 was not a new engine. It was improved Oblivion engine (basically Gamebryo with custom parts made by Bethesda).

The reason why old Fallout players usually prefer NV over FO3 is because it was made by Obsidian, which consists mostly of former Black Isle Employees, who made Fallout 2.
