The Maul of Greatness

Given that the great maul crushes through blocks on an unreliably infrequent basis now, does it really still need to be three slots?  I suggest that it be become a two-slot weapon again.

Crushthrough is based on how much damage would be given before armor reduction vs the strength and wepon weight of an enemy. I have 8ps and can insta crush through any 21- strength shielder with a heavy round shield.

The game would be horrible if you could run around with a great sword and a great maul.
We're all nerds here, so it doesn't really matter.

You just have to hold the overhead for a sec before releasing and you should crushthrough most of the time. Just don't hold too long because the crushthrough chance goes down again, theres a sweet spot where you pretty much always crushthrough I find.

Yeah, but is it still powerful enough to warrant three slots?  It was switched to three back when every overhead was almost certainly going to crush and even then it wasn't exactly difficult to spam a mauler.  With the additional holding required to get a chance of crushing that we have now I don't think it needs to be three slot anymore.  I mean does anyone here actually feel threatened by the "crushthrough" aspect of a maul anymore?  They feel more like free kills to me.

ive got 24 str and im constantly being crushthroughd
especially in strat sieges the great maul being 2 slot would be absolutely ridiculous, first you jump into a bunch of great mauls, if you survive for 5+ seconds you gotta face a bunch of great swords
its 3 slot and should remain 3 slot
For all the non-believers, look no further than this thread for proof that while strat battles are won/lost in NA3/EU3, strat wars are won and lost on the forums.

It's powerful enough to force me to go for 21 STR instead usual 18 STR. Did that just to be able to use Great Maul.
