I guess then Sweden is on the second place, first place goes to Germany ... We even can't have a crucifix at schools or other public places because its supposed to be racist towards muslims and other religions ... Also, some (left) political parties want to remove or at least rename all christian feasts/holiday because they "insult" all the muslims living here ...
If it's similar worse in Sweden and other nordic countries (and I know it's like that in our western neighbours in France, Netherlands and in the UK too to some extent) I see black for europe. But hey, we had this discussion already some times and it leads to nowhere, same as current social and political actions ...
I am agnostik and while i like traditions in general, i dont like traditions which put people into places where they wouldnt have a choice. Like making me a christian from birth or anyone. Teach them what a christian is, and all other religions, teach them ethics and give them then the choice to choose for themselves.
Contrary to that stands religios symbols in schools in germany, which is a constant reminder of who is boss in these regions and from one point of view also already propaganda. Securalism isnt going far enough. We have actually political parties in germany calling themselves "Christ... something soemthing" and they are the ruling parties. Again, i am not against some of the values spreaded by chrisitanity, but in a modern state, religions shouldnt be included in the states system on any level.
I find it quite ironic, that those who fear most they would loose their religious identity because of a missing symbol in school, are most likely not regularly going to church anyways ^^. 45% of germans went into christmess this year, meaning 55% didnt.

It's all bullshit, and that is why nationalists are growing every day. That is why I believe Europe will once again face an nationalistic era (not chocolate chip cookie era, just plain nationalistic, it's a big difference, thank you).
More over the money if at all.
This is what I strongly hope for. Our (which means all western-european) politicians are hypocrites, deadbeats, liars, incompetent robber barons that piss on their own people for profits and "political correctness", with leftist politicians being the biggest traitors to their own countrymen.
National Pride like patriot sentiments are used by politicians to get elected.
While those on the right often are lead by capitalistic interests, those on the left more by socialistic interests. In germany before the Berlin Wall came down, we had a social economy, based on Erhards thoughts mainly. With the Sovietblock failing, the amiricans taking that as sign from god that capitalism wins, instead that communism didnt work out(there is a difference in perspective), the whole western world went all out with capitalism, just have a look at the different monitary crisis we had been in since then. Greed and deregulations combined produced huge clusterfucks.
Add the globalisation of companies, something which is going on for a long time and you may get a hint why some of our problems are recurring.
Nationalism is as bad just on another level as is pure capatalism. Aslong we dont find a balance between different idears and idealogies and not always say "Only" that idear is valid, "only" that way we have to march, but open up the idears for shades of possibities, nuances of choice, plentiful ways to choose from and not "only one way". When the politicians promise you the lands of milk and honey, the paradise, they are fucked up, those lands dont exist, never will, life is about struggle and can be improved gradually by many idears not at once by 'only' one idear. There is no one true political party. There are merily different points of views, at certain points in time, their idears may become more valid, depending on the problems currently most pressuring.
