Using a Pike from horses back = go fuck yourself ban hammer. That is completely fair, because it's totally hilarious bullshit.

Would however having your infantry ride a happy burro to the battle and dismount constitute a ban able offence? Should it?

For my money I say nay :3

All infantry should be able to ride the burro to battle so long as they do not engage in combat from the back of the mighty burro.

What say you, foul peasantry of cirpig?
Fammi un pompino!

I think I have ball cancer in my right nut :(
Good news everybody! It's not nut cancer :)
Bad news everybody, I got dumped :(

Using donkey to reach location, but you spawn with pike/etc that isn't usable from horseback.

I think it should be fine to spawn with a weapon that's not useable on horseback and spawn on a horse.  As long as you're not using it and only transporting yourself to the front lines.  If you're not using it, you're not using it...
