3d Gaming glasses for PC have been around for years... I remember finding out about them in 2005 or earlier, well before the 3d tv's starting hitting the market.
The ones I saw back then instead of displaying 2 images of the same thing side by side... They made the computer/monitor display 2 of the same images on layered on top of each other but slightly overlapping, and I think there was a shutter speed (could be wrong ago it was years when I read up on the ones I'm remembering) on the glasses that made it so that each lens piece on the glasses picked up a different set of the same image. Worked with any monitor and any game, as long as you computer could handle displaying double displays on the same monitor. I recall them costing around 100-200$ but they never really caught on.
I wonder how those ones stack up against these ones. It looks kind of like the ones you posted (side by side) images cuts your resolution/display down as if you were playing splitscreen... that's kind of a deal breaker for me.
