Tbf, wine is also an aquired taste. I don't think anyone ever liked the taste of wine or beer the first time they ever tasted it. Or any alcoholic beverage, really.

I dont care about the taste usually, I just drink to have fun. Good thing about alcohol is that a small sip is enough to unwind and become much more open.

Usually, two shots of vodka are enough to keep teh conversation flowing for me.

You're wrong. Stuff like Baileys or mead is something that everyone likes on first taste. Because it tastes like candy unlike that gasoline Russians and Mexicans drink (first call it Vodka, second Tequila, to me both are the same tasteless sour crap).

Well, the stock vodka tastes like crap imo.

It is usally better to grab something flavoured. [I am a fan of melon vodka myself]

Love tequila, Bailey's, mead, red wine, Irish ciders and absolutely fucking hate vodka, fucking medicine concoction to combat cholera or something. Also like beer, but not so much lately.

Anyway, fuck alcohol in large amounts, smoke pot instead. Tons milder after effects.

Some (most ? comparing the amount of different wines is meaningless anyway) wines don't taste very good, but at least it's not all of them like with beer. Even when I drank a special kind of beer with peach juice mixed in ("pecheresse"), I wished there was more juice and less beer.

Some alcoholic beverages taste really good even pure. Many liqueurs do, like coffee liqueur, Amaretto or Curacao.

Tequila actually got a nice taste, you just shouldn't drink too much of it, or mix it with other stuff.  :P

Baileys and mead are disgusting, I almost puked when I tried them.

Sweetness tolerance. I think you may not like hot bananas or cherry coke either.

But I have to agree, "liking" beer and whine is acquired, but same goes for coffee.

I disagree

It's something parents and society tell us to like, so (most) people like it after tasting it a few times. I know very few people who don't like coffee,

Not really either, it's very hard to change one's tastes about drinks and food, and it gets harder as you age. Most people either like coffee or don't like it and put sugar and milk in it to drink it or just don't drink coffee at all.

and none who don't like alcohol in general (only some who abjure it because they abused it to much  )

There's a difference between liking the effects of alcohol and liking the taste of alcoholic beverages, because while the former is always the same, the latter is subject to enormous variation, as alcohol itself doesn't hold much taste unless you drink stuff with seriously unhealthy alcohol content.

I like to mix stuff because it has little to no effects on me and others find that interesting cause they know they would puke if they tried the same stuff in exact order as I did :P

You forgot high self esteem and a small drop of arrogance.

No offense here tho.

irl something shorted on the shuttle and laika overheated and died within a few hours of liftoff and for a brief while one could look up to the stars and see a light shooting across the sky that was actually a warm dog corpse slingshoting about the earth at thousands of miles per hour which was arguably humanity's greatest achievement so far

FOOLS!  how can you start comparing whine with beer,  they are both heaven sent entities of beauty :'/

I was relating to beer being allowed in the fasting season by the pope in mid ages,  who considered its taste so bad,  that he said:  if those fools wanna drink that shit,  be my guest o0,  making it the "monks bread"
(the beer tasted that bad because it went foul on the long journey over the alps)

also,  half a liter of beer belongs to the daily ration of our mountain soldiers or whatever the hell they would be called in english.  yay.
Yes, I know from whence I came! Discontented as a flame, Upon myself I live and glow. All I grasp like lightning flashes, All I leave behind is ashes
Flame I am - that much I know!
