White Gold, Boiling Point, Xenus etc.

THANK YOU! I knew someone had to know!  :D

The Witcher 1/2, Drakensang 1/2, Mass Effect 1/2/3.

RPG-BTA : Castlevania : Lords of Shadow, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing.

Done them all, though never finished the Mass Effect series, never cared for it. :/

Have yet to try Van Helsing, heard good things about it. Not the biggest fan of Diablo-clones but if done right they're fun so I'll probably give it a go sometime.

Heard a lot of nice things too, still didnt test because I want to play it with my mates and it lags horribly when creating a server, since it was released.
But SP is fine and I'm pretty sure its a great game.

Xenus 2 looks like it might have heavily inspired Farcry 3. Something interesting came out of this thread anyway.

Yeah definitely. Think I'm gonna give it a go.

Also, I ended up installing the first Crysis, I played it for like an hour when I got my first gaming rig just to drool over sweet graphics. Surprisingly it's actually quite an outstanding shooter. Also installed Jaws Unleashed for the lolz. It's aged horribly as I expected, but it was fun for a little nostalgia. That game was great when I was younger, haha.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines

One of the better RPG's I've played. Install the community patches and a resolution fixer and you're set.

Planescape: Torment is probably my favourite RPG ever, with Fallout 1/2 just behind. Get them on GoG, and the planescape fixpack

Have a look through that list:

Arx Fatalis is a kind of obscure one but wasn't bad

Severance: Blade of Darkness
It is an older game (2001), but it's a unique experience and combat system.

Severance is one of the first games to have real time shadows.

basically the original mass effect series

Wut? They have nothing to do with Mass Effect, besides the good/evil thing.

Dont touch Gothic 3, nor Arcania. Play Gothic 1, then Gothic 2 and skip to Risen then. Don't know Risen 2, but Piranha Bytes is a good company.

Otherwise Sacred 1, Sacred: Underworld, Sacred 2. Try these, but play Sacred 1 first.
Can only tell you to check gog.com because that site got lots of amazing nice rpgs.

RPG I like the most: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arcanum:_Of_Steamworks_and_Magick_Obscura
Miwiw_HRE - Two Handed

Arcanum is really buggy, though, and clunky. But it's got a very interesting setting. We need more steampunk games.

PPPS: Awhile back in a thread similar to this someone was suggesting these open world third person shooters with slight RPG elements, done by Russian devs if I recall correctly. Can't remember the name of them for the life of me, anyone know what I'm talking about?

Do you mean http://szone-online.net/index/ ? Was known as Stalker-Online a few months back.

As sp-rpg i would recommend  'THe Last Remnant'.

well besides RPG Elements, you can dogfight in Space agaisnt pirates or different alien species, mine ore in astroied, trade between systems and stations, build stations to produce stuff and sell it, coordinate an armada of ships from a small fighter upto Battleship class, outfit your ships wit different modules so they fullfill different funtions ... and much more, it is coming out in mid november .. i bought it in May ^^
learn from the past, live the moment, dream of the future
