I was headshot with a crossbow by Bootie in the first minute of the map. I was confused, though, because there were no enemies in sight. I was alerted to my killer's location by a teammate who was in spectator mode.

It's a known glitch. If you abuse it I will ban you on sight. You know you shouldn't be in there so don't do it.
