If someone could retexture all the armours/gloves/boots that are made with the current greyish mail, with the darker one and vice versa .

If someone could make this, then I`m pretty sure that the devs wouldnt mind adding the "new" gear to the game, we can`t have new armours since we are elitists  :?  , at least we can have new retextured gear..


I have no idea from 3d modeling, so I don`t know if it takes a lot of work to do it, but I`m pretty sure that in this community we have some pretty skilled ones , what do you guys think??

Most of them are quite good in my opinion. Some are indeed terrible, though. I am afraid you won't get anything better unless you do it yourself.  :wink:

You don't need to know how to 3D model to texture ;)

Go into the CRPG textures folder, find the most basic named texture for the item you want. (Most models have 3 textures, diffuse (colour) / specularity / normal map. you want the first one)

Open it in GIMP (free photoshop like program) or Photoshop (you may need to download DDS plugin).
Paint away :p.

I was going for maximum simplicity :p.

If you want it to look great, you'd have to mess with all 3.
Though I assumed he was just making things darker, so spec/normal editing isn't needed.

More or less my point, as with the spec map. If it's just a (minor) brightness change, no real change of texture; all you need to change is the diffuse (unless he is making it an extreme one way or the other, which I doubt he is).

Actually, I don't see why the normal map should change the brightness at all. It defines virtual "bumps" on an otherwise flat surface, so assuming it is already correctly made, changing it won't help in any way. And if it's not correctly made you won't really be able to make it better in GIMP.
