Connection to server lost - someone is using your name

Lose connection, when try to get back in see the someone using name message until I quit and restart. Am I being trolled by some shitmin, or is this actually a technical issue? Happens from time to time, now happened twice (edit: thrice) in a matter of minutes. When you get kicked from a server by an admin, is there a certain message you see to know it's that instead of another kind of disconnect?

Hehe, have this problem too but it is definetely not that somebody is trolling you. This is surely a bug which should be solved as fast as they can. It's so fucking annoying if you are on x5, maybe having a good score and the connection loses because of such a shit. I hope I was able to help you abit by saying that its just a bug.

just wait a few seconds, it should instantly go away. Also the 'someone is using your name' message is not the cause of the problem, it's just because you try to rejoin immediatelly.

Another solution I have found is to switch to another character (just create a random one if you don't have an alternative char), enter the server with him, exit, switch back to your original character and enter again.

As Fredom noted, it is not about someone trolling you by using your nickname, it is just an inherent bug that also happens in native.

Yeah it's just your character hasn't actually disconnected server side right when you do client side. It takes like 20 seconds or so after you disconnect for that to happen. Like others have said it's a bug that happens sometimes.

(I've had friends say they've disconnected but you can still see them in game before the server actually realizes they're gone.

Hm, looks like there are some serious connectivity issues, at least on my end. After getting disconnected 3,4,5 times that day and giving up, I just got on DTV now and it wasn't long before losing connection there either. And this is NA incidentally, I see there are some problems going on for EU lately, don't know if they would be connected. But this is pretty sad, after having not played for the last couple months I thought I was coming back a little now, but I guess that's not gonna happen. Probably a blessing. Thanks crpg!

This happened to me 6 times during a 20 minute playing session today and happened about 10 times this week until I realized there is a big issue here. I have to close out of warband and reopen it to play again. Was on NA1. I can't even play at x5 because I lose connection constantly

Oh phew, good to know at least it's not just me with the multiple disconnects. But also bad because probably servers and mod are dying. lolmodisdeadisthatathing? But I did play for like half hour, up to an hour maybe yesterday without problem. So who knows.

Alas in the common session of cRPG I usually disconnect anywhere from 2 times to 13.

Does this also happen when you've bought the game from a shady vendor and the other player with the same key tries to join a server/is actually on the server you tried to join?
