Remember war of the roses? Most people don't and the viking game is from the same guys. I wouldn't worry about it taking crpg players away for more than a day or two.

Apparently the only way to upgrade crpg is to dumb it down and remove much of the skill.

IT looks like WotR and its in Closed Alpha, For me it looks like scam of the VotR devs or some kind silly way to fix old title with "cool Vikings" floating around last time.

well even in a product like his which holds less playtime hours than Borderlands there are features that are interesting and a possible improvement to future games of the same style.

I like how they handled archery in that game... played the Alpha and now early acess. Most I like how they handled kiting, everybody is about the same spees but what I liked was the tackle button, if you get close to somebody and he starts to run youcan trip them, genious! Also you have to zoom to shoot which gives you tunnel vision and requires you to be more aware and change position. I tried melee but the animations and hitboxes were simply awfull so I pewpewed.

There's absolutely nothing to fear from thoses new games. Sure, they got better graphic, that's not hard. But the balance is inexistant.

-possibility to "patch" oneself COMPLETELY in a mere 6sec
-stupid agiwhore everywhere, backpedalling and suddenly going forward with some strange leap attack (Huscarl Overhead)
-blocking. Except it's useless to block when you can backpedal out of reach.
