The Abdication/Passing of Good King Reinhardt

Deep in the heart of the tundra, a meeting had been called between the most senior members of the Crusader faction. The officers gathered at Nova Slezkh castle after having received urgent messages from the King’s Council. The King was on his deathbed. A solemn mood had taken over the castle as the men came to the chambers of the King.

“I am not long for this world.” spoke the King. “I name Lord James my successor as the only other suitable heirs would be the countless bastards I have fathered among the noble women of the realm, none of whom I am currently able to locate.” he continued.

The men, saddened to see Good King Reinhardt leaving them, took heart in the knowledge that somehow, someday, he would come back to them. In this crusade or the next.

“It is with my power as King of the Crusader Kingdom of Acre that I name you King James the First of Acre.” Reinhardt announced. “And as such I abdicate the throne to you James” he finished. The king mumbled something about Ronald McDonald, a Scottish bastard pirate, but no one could entirely discern what he had said. Clearly near to passing the King spoke his final words…”GF REKT”

The King was dead. A horn sounded in the courtyard to signal his passing. A period of mourning fell over the peoples of Nova Slezkh and all the Crusaders..

“A noble king indeed” James said to his officers as he lit the enormous funeral pyre that was built. Reports were that the smoke carried all the way to Sungetche castle. A celebration was had that night of a King who fought bravely through several grueling wars and led the Crusaders of Acre to gain glory and renown in Strategus. His leadership and knowledge enabled the training of an elite group that will ensure the survival of the faction. Elite though they were, the majority of the men were plastered drunk for a week after the kings passing. Thankfully, the realm was oddly peaceful and they hadn’t been called to fight.

James remembered receiving communications about a possible heir named Ronald McDonald currently thought to be engaged on a pirate ship far off the coast. He would have to send an envoy to see if he could be reached. As James was sifting through the King’s final documents he came upon a document declaring that several of the King’s finest weapons and armour were to be gifted upon his passing to the most dedicated crusaders.

This would be an interesting task but James looked forward to taking the reins of the Kingdom and leading Acre into a new era in honor of the good King.

I volunteer for ownership of New Slezkh.

That is, after it's conveniently recaptured.
Legs are used for standing, walking, jumping, running, kicking, and similar activities.

"News from the North, my Chieftain" the courier said as he handed over the small scrip of paper.

As he read, the entire hall grew quiet as the expression on the Chieftain's face grew grim.

"I order a day of remembrance for all who fought and died in the Raven-Dracul/Acre war of northern expansion. May the Ancestors welcome the fallen in Valhalla."

About time king Rein died and passed on his power to one of his loyal vassals. His choice James is a terrible decision. First off James from my experience still doesn't know how to command... James has no experience in any other class besides plate crutch

I understand their is no one thats active besides James in acre so you had no choice. Oh the fall of acre is to come.

Our relationship with FCC was forced upon us by enemies after we purchased fiefs from them. Certainly it will be a different situation in the next strategus.

A valiant attempt was made by mango to troll James, but having been experienced with frisians James laughed at the petty attempts.
