I'm looking for "intelligent", thought provoking films... mystery n stuff like that
I liked "Source code"
"Inception" was pretty good.
I kinda liked "1408"
Sci fiction is cool... Horror is cool... even action/drama are cool... subject matter involving occult/cults or satan/demons are a big bonus also :3
That korean film "Oldboy" was good too
I like the newer startreks... and the old ones are ok...
I really liked City of God, the first matix,

Mainly would rather stay away from Conspiracy or Documentary unless they are really good thought provoking/convincing ones.
"Secrets in plain sight" was a cool documentary I liked.

When I say intelligent films, I'm mainly talking about films that don't have endless amounts of unanswered questions, loopholes, or subject matter that's not convincing whatsoever. That's all I mean.

Alright? Shoot me some suggestions!

If you liked 1408, maybe the Paranormal Activity films are for you? Or what about Hide and Seek? Or The Others with Kidman? Maybe even Identity, if you haven't seen it yet.

Then there are the classics like Fight Club, Memento, Twelve Monkeys, Machinist, One Hour Photo, The Prestige, Cube (only the first one), Saw (only the first one, and maybe, just maybe the second one, too, but the rest are crap) and so on.

Oh, and I can second the suggestion for Dark City, it's a not very well known gem.

Some more suggestions I liked: Primer, Pi, The Jacket, Stay, The Illusionist, The Mothman Prophecies.

Or if you really want something you have to puzzle about for hours, try some David Lynch films, like Mulholland Drive or Lost Highway.

District 9

You have probably already seen it, but who cares. It deserves another watch if it is a while since you saw it last.

Twelve Thirteen Monkeys

And if you want some David Lynch, watch Twin Peaks.

If you liked 1408, maybe the Paranormal Activity films are for you?

Not sure if he will like the whole PA series. Except for Katie Featherstone's boobs I found nothing too exciting about movie #4.

Maybe you wanna give Das Kind a try?

Great suggestions thanks! +1 for all yall... got a list now of torrents to get

Haven't watched the paranormal activities... might give the first one a try just to see what the hoopla is about. I liked "the ring"... so maybe I can hope its on the level?

Cube (old one) is a great suggestion, fucking loved that movie... even the new one was Ok... just no where as good as the first.
Seen donnie darko a couple times but I never was a fan, though I don't remember much besides the rabbit mask so might give that a shot again.
Requiem for a dream is definitely one of those movies you only need to see once... every time I hear that song, I visualize ass to ass lol.

Most of the other suggestions I haven't seen and I will give them a shot

Keep it going, I'll need more eventually :D

You might like Stalker, though its largely thought provoking because its quite a slow moving story with occasional philosophical bits. Just make sure you have time set aside to watch it all the way through without getting distracted. 2001 has kind of a similar style

Blade Runner is quite thought provoking. Spoilers ahead, don't read if you haven't watched it
(click to show/hide)

TBH I'd read anything by Philip K Dick if you want that type of thing, or maybe get audiobooks if there are any

Oh, also David Chronenburg did some weired films. Naked Lunch, Videodrome etc.
