they could also teamstack lots and lots of throwing lances...
sure it will be fun just walking down the street and get hit by six lances just by going round the corner.
i dont mean for it to have like giant radius of thirty feet, i mean like 4-5 feet, for an escape route, it would add a cool tactical element to siege street fights...


in siege: crowded hall or room, long mauler throws smokebomb, you cant see, long mauler comes in and wrecks everyone with noskill overhead

i think not, with particle effects turned off, you cant even see the smoke.
IMO stuff like Smokebombs and "distractions" and other niche items are pretty stupid
and besides, that little "on-screen" effect you got there, will probaly be next to impossible to code

and besides, that little "on-screen" effect you got there, will probaly be next to impossible to code

including himself and ignoring the fact other people wont simply just stand there doing nothing...
edit: on-screen effects are gui related methinks, i dont think it would be so hard to implement.

ofc it wouldnt last that long, like three seconds that would give someone enough time to disengage and make a run for it without having it ruin whole gameplay.

people are going to be more along the lines of "oh look, he just thrown a smokebomb, fuck this guy! CHARGE AND CHASE!"

make them into crude grenades.. a small areaeffect. Will knockdown/stun/rear horses along with alittle dmg. :D

how can anyone chase someone without seeing where they are?  if thats how do real life smoke grenades work then why they are not useless?
