Roman Ruffians vs Barbarian Baddasses

On September 21st 11 days after my hallowed birthing day a Roman cohort shall find it's self starring down the barrel of a large French rape canon.

As per Dynamikes idea I will be staging a Roman themed battle.

Current Roman armour is

Sword will be Italian Falcion

Shield will be the two Pavise shields

Throwing will be a mix of spears and javilins. I think spears best rep Pilium but only because so few people can hurl the lances. If enough lance chuckers reply to this thread I'll make it mostly lances and javs.

The romans will have no archers, no spears, no cav.

Total player count for the romans will be 42, 5 contubernium with two commanders.

Commanders are to be nominated her in this thread.

The total force size for the Roman's will be 800 tickets. All exquiped.

There will be no siege gear other than horse spikes and siege shields.

Barbarians

Bunch of filthy Kuyak wearing sons of goats if you ask me.

They will use Nordic Champion swords, Large Two handed axes, round shields, spears, Francisca (buckets of them).

They will have few shields, no siege gear, mostly no helmets and very few bows. But they will have some unlike the Roman unit.

They will also have 51 players and 1000 tickets but overall inferior gear that will lead to more 2h rambo bullshit.

I would like to just suggest the Romans use Board Shields or heavy board shields, that way you have 3-4 shieldskill instead of 5.

Also, I totally wanna be in this Roman side! 
EDIT: I would like to apply for the roman general position i should be 1h cav by then so i could give some badass prebattle speeches infront of the troops!

Board Sheild is more Roman.
Also use the Short Sword, It's closer to a gladius.

You can get the Skutatos and Varangopulous armor at New Yruma, +1 javelins as well.

Romans will be wearing Skutatos and Varapoapaopaoapaopangulos armor. In what quantities? It raises concerns, because unless it's mostly (500+) Vara, Kuyaks are pretty heavy (Light Kuyak has 4 more body than Skutatos), and the troop count and merc count will be so different and stacked towards the barbars, I think lower armor would be more suited to the barbars for the bulk of their tickets, at least (Rawhide Coat, Nomad Armor, Tribal Warrior Outfit, maybe Mail Shirt with Fur or Brynja- beyond that is too heavy given the merc/ticket disparity imo).

What malaclypse said.  the earlier barbarian hordes had roughly mail shirt with fur level armor - hell the picts were notorious for not using any body armor except tattoos.  With the weaker armor you could shift the numbers a little more in favor of the barbarians by 50 troops more in one and 50 less in romans.  Also, the romans can count on my shield .

Good idea, I'll flip the BA for Barbs to MailFur (Even though fur is murder!) and swap to board shields, I didn't not realise the Pav was 5 dif :S

I can't move it a week before for at least two reason at this point.

1) Fisdnar will probably still be in merc hands

2) Tis my day of birthing!

3) I'm waiting on the armies I'm hurling loom points at to show up!

Maybe the Golden Horde Helmet, that looks like the earlier ones.
