why i accepted the message :your throwing weapon profession is too low,
and i can not pick up my throwing spear.

my build :

str:24
agi:12
ps 8
ir  7
pt 6
wm 4
ath 4

2hand: 99
throwing:110

armor weight
head:2.3
body:14.1
foot:0.9
hand:1.4

what i consider is :
my effective throwing wpf=
110 x[1-(2.3x3+14.1+0.9+1.4x4 -10)/100] =90.75 > 78 = 13x6 neccersary throwing wpf
so i should have enough throwing wpf ,
what 's wrong ?

Head armor is -2 wpf per weight
Gloves is -3 wpf per weight

Leg / body armor = -1 wpf per weight

1 pt demands 14 wpf

So your 6 pt without armor is 84 wpf in throwing. now you just have to figure out which armor setup that fits

your gear makes it to -23.9 wpf hmn... so 23,9 - 110 is 86 or something... i dunno why u should´nt be able to it.. you sure u typed the correct stats   :?:

I've never played a server where people split up as much or as often as on EU1.  No wonder range is having a field day.

Armor weight
Armor weight modified proficiency = base proficiency * (1 - 0.01 * effective armor weight)
Effective armor weight = 2*head armor weight + body armor weight + leg armor weight + 4*hand armor weight - 10
(Source: WaltF4, updated 31.7.2012 based on the new formula)

This means that every point of armor weight with helmet weight multiplied by 2 and glove weight multiplied by 4  over 10 reduces your wpf by 1%. Or the same put other way, any effective armor weight from the above equation reduces your wpf 1% per 1 point.

Effective WPF
There are three possible factors reducing your wpf from what is listed on the character sheet. First reduce your wpf by 13 for each point of power throw, then reduce your wpf by 14 for each point of power draw and then remove 1% of remaining wpf for each point of effective weight. For effective weight, see armor weight chapter above.

The same mathematically:
(wpf - 13*pt - 14*pd) * (1 - effective weight / 100)

Your formula doesn't seem to be the same as the one in the Game mechanic megathread

I wish something like that was the formula. Easy to understand and fair across all wpf levels.

It is the formula.

Dunno why he cant use hes weapons according to the stats he posted.

My gear an my setup makes perfect sense using that formula. i have like 0.3 spare gear weight space left, if i use a piece of armor with 0.3 more weight i get the msg.

Couple questions Tzar.. (genuine questions)

1. When you say "per weight" do you mean whole numbers, rounded whole numbers or 0.3 weight is -0.3 WPF
2. How do you know it's 14 WPF per PT there seems to be disagreement on the mechanics thread
3. You said -3 for gloves, where did you get that? Again mechanics thread is different (4x weight on there)
4. When was the last time you tested your formula?

Finally I would like to check your formula
I have 115 WPF and 6 PT
According to your formula, what is the thresh hold on armor weight for me?

-13x6=-78 wpf for PT.

-19 wpf for your armor

= -97

Effective wpf = 13.

You need about 20 effective wpf to be able to pcik weapons up without getting the red message. So get 7 more wpf.

Body armor is the real thing that takes away wpf, not hand armor or head armor those are very minimal considering they only go to like 4 weight max but body armor goes up to like 25+ weight.

I don't think Tzar is right about the armor wpf reduction. I think it's -2 wpf for every 1 weight in hand armor and -3 wpf for every weight in head armor. But I still don't know if it's for every whole number you get -X amount of wpf.

sorry
how you get -19 from my armor weight ?

according to your formula:
head -3x2.3 = -6.9
body -14.1
foot  -0.9
hand -2x1.4 = -2.8
--------------------------------
                     -24.7
and minus wpf thresthod 10 leaves -14.7 ??

You have 110wpf with 6pt and you need to be effective Throw Level = 13 * Desired Effective Power Throw Level + Throwing Armor Weight 13*6+55=133
With your current armour that would be the needed wpf.

armor weight
head:2.3
body:14.1
foot:0.9
hand:1.4

With Throwing Armor Weight = head armor weight * 6 + torso armor weight * 2 + leg armor weight * 2 + hand armor weight * 8 - 10
13.8+28.2+1.8+11.2-10=45 wpf effective now.
My advice: really loose the current headgear and gloves.

Well let's put it this way he definitely doesn't have more than 20 wpf because he can't pick up throwing weapons. So ignore my formula if you disagree with it..

I have 20 effective wpf no problem with picking up weapons.

I think there is something weird like the first few lbs in body armor doesn't count or it combines all weight and does something not sure.

 Yes.

2. How do you know it's 14 WPF per PT there seems to be disagreement on the mechanics thread
That thread is outdated last time i checked.

3. You said -3 for gloves, where did you get that? Again mechanics thread is different (4x weight on there)
Cant remember but i was told it was sometime ago... like 3 or 4 months.

4. When was the last time you tested your formula?
When i posted in here. According to my facts it checks out.

Anyways, believe me or not :) That formula is working out for me.
