Meh, there are bad and good days. Today was a bad one, but don't worry, we'll come back.

Also, on the first and last battle we actually did very well considering we are still without proper plate. Second one was fail and third one epic fail. But shit happens. And shit like that happened to greys, too. So yeah, go on and brag about it, you deserve it. Don't get too confident, though ;)

and the gloves difference yeah about 10 armor worth, plus heavier horses - in a large protracted battle differences like that add up to 200-300 tickets

Loosing and trying to justify it by saying you only had coats of plate compared to what Greys had...

Did you consider that
1. You were the ones who attacked (3 out of 4 battles)
2. Greys normally have the same equipment (like Apostates do) so you knew before attacking what they would have.
3. You had coats of plate down to the last man, Greys ran out of body armor in one battle and ran out of heavy armor in another.

Also the addition in HP made a reduction in movement speed. Considering how many agi whores there are, by comparison to strength, we all know how effective the additional movement speed can be. (I got my ass kicked a few times which I feel was due to movement speed)

But enough arguing over gear etc. Everyone (or at least most) had fun and lots of EXP Which I thank both side for.

It was great fun and personally I was very impressed by Coalitions performance, from my perspective they did a lot better than Apostates do against Greys.

An finally if you really think it was all down to equipment (or at least the deciding factor), you're a big faction with presumably lots of money.. spend some on better armor next time

In the long run, both teams will be doing roughly the same amount of damage to each other, since the average skill level is also roughly the same as well. With better armor one team can take more damage = 1 tickets lasts longer, and that way gets to deal damage. It takes 1 or 2 more hits to kill a tincan than a normal medium'ish armored guy.

But Vermilion is right that we do have money for plates. These armies are the reserve we have gathered before everyone went full plate, so there will be a lot more battles to come

And compared to loomed coat of plates, 0-1 more, and at what cost? Not being able to zip in and out of range as good, and a bit lower damage. I usually rotate a bit on my equipment during battles, but most effective kdr-wise with kuyak, long spear and hourglass gauntlets. Not too restricted when it comes to attacking when the possibility arrives, and decent survivability too.

I don't know what gloves you're using but they matter more because the weight increase is not that noticeable, and greys have quite heavy ones in hourglass gauntlets. Might matter a bit if you use mail mittens or something.

I agree Gurni that for a pikeman the medium armor works the best. Your weapon will outrange everyone else, so best way to use that advantage is to move fast. But 2 handers for example will need to tank hits since they don't have the range, and nobody can block everything on strat battles
