Class type character choosing.

so by now i recon everyone has shitton of alts and switches between them pretty often. but the problem is, that you need to exit game, pick your character, getting back to the game and start playing. imo this is lame way to play alts, and it would be avoidable.

what about this:
you enter the fight, pick a character and then equipment. multiplier doesnt reset since its still you playing for these character and you merely switch class.
this would also allow to limit the number of class specific troops like infantry, ranged and cavalry...

I like except for the limit on classes. You should be allowed to play what u want when you want

You don´t need to exit the game to switch to an alt. And it takes around 10 seconds to switch characters ... useless suggestion.
how do you switch the character in ingame [and by this i mean during battle deployment] then?

You leave the server, choose a new character and join the server again.  8-)

I do like the idea that players could switch characters without leaving the server, but that should reset the multi. Otherwise I'd just valor whore myself x5, and switch to my low level thrower.

Ok, you have to leave the server, but not exit the game. But it takes, as I said, maybe 10 seconds to leave the server, pick the chracter you want to play next and join the server again. 10 seconds.
you exit the game, by leaving a server, losing multiplier in the process. picking a class in game is much more intuitive, plus it is a feature already available to stock warband. could you imagine playing battlefield or some other shooter, and having to switch classes by leaving the server, clicking a class and then going back into the game? that would be extremely lame and this is exactly what happens in c-rpg.

i do not see anything wrong with that, i think this is fine, especially with inconsistence of multipliers, and the fact that other than valor, multiplier is not tied to how one player plays, but rather how the whole team itself plays.

1. This isn´t a shooter.
2. There are no classes, there are only characters with different levels, skills and gear.

3. (and most important): This system would be highly abusable, Lennu said why.

If anything the multi needs to reset when you change your character without leaving the server.
1. genre doesnt mean anything.
2. classes would be defined by preset equipment. you take your character, equip it, name the class [not shown to other players, they would still see the in game nick] and save it.
3. i do not see the abuse in this, leveling low level characters with high level guys increasing multiplier would be fine, you forget that you have to win or get valour to increase mp. obviously new characters would not be able to hold it for long. it is as if the high level char. trained the low level char..

No. Every character has different equipment and I use different equipment depending upon the map and who else is playing at the time. I don't want my character being locked in to a specific set of equipment just so you can change your name easily in game. And no, if you aren't playing with the same character, you don't keep the multiplier.

As good as this would be, I don't think the game's engine would let such a change (I've never seen that in any other mod).

the name of the class doesnt show ingame and you would be easily able to switch equipment of the class the same way you do normally, just open the website and chose the equipment there.

okay ill explain the idea again.
when you enter the server, you pick side, then your character, with up to 8 alts or whatever community desires listed, and then you change the equipment to suit your needs. as people rage uncontrollably about keeping mp [i do NOT see the reason of this as switching to different character would mean you get to keep the mp as long as your team wins], this is not priority. the priority is being able to switch alts, fast and easy way without leaving the server and having to find it again.

And it is 3 pre-determined sets of equipment.

It takes 5 seconds to leave server, select character, rejoin server. There are many other items I would prefer to see Dev time spent on.

like donkeys and flaming katanas? yeah cool joke.
i dont get why do you refuse this idea with such passion, it is a simple suggestion to make switching alts less heavy handed.
what are those things that you would prefer dev team to work on then?

Yeah donkeys, best addition to c-rpg in ages.

I always refuse to support ideas that require new coding and already have a perfectly functional mechanic to do what you are requesting.

fine, let the mod die, why would there be any innovations when we can just add pointless stuff eh? makes you wonder why we use gas instead of steam and cars instead of horses. yeah good, just throw all the innovation out of the window and fk everything, this game doesnt need any updates and refinement...
