well when strat first started ATS had this thing going where we could duel one another in clan to be the "hero" for battles. Ecko would purchase the gear of your choice and you were essentially a commander at that point. Nobody else was allowed to use this gear, and enough of it was purchased for this person to use it throughout the battle. Of course everyone else had one normal gear, and the hero would be wearing his normal gear that he would wear in battle, so he stuck out. This lead to alot of our members dueling to become ranked within the clan. It made things interesting considering most of the time it was Goretooth in full black plated armor, with a bec, while all of ATS wore red chain mail.
Regardless it was a cool idea and it made things interesting for us adding more depth to the game which others did not have.
