I think I watched this last year live, with Jousting and all that stuff.

Was funny to see USA heraldic guys and US flags being carried by knightly guys, it's a bit silly.

They also got kicked in the arse by the more reckless Eastern style, Ukraine and Poland, if I remember correctly.

Not to insult them, they put up a nice resistance, but got steamrolled by the others.

The fights look terrible though, there isn't much actual swordplay. I'm not saying I'd be better, but it's not very cinematic.

their probaly not trying to be cinematic, there trying to win, its still a competition, real fighting looks nothing like it does in the movies

That's probably because real fights might not have looked like anything in the movies either.

A couple observations:

It looked like some "teams" (I'm looking at you USA), was a collection of individuals who had never worked with a team in their life.

Instead of practicing with swords and shields and axes for this tournament, the teams should have practiced Greco-Roman wrestling instead for its upright grappling and takedowns/throws since that's pretty much what each match degenerated into, with the opponent being "out" once they were on the ground.

I know, but they look absolutely retarded. This is not real fighting.This looks like a bunch of guys trying to push eachother down, the swords and shields are pretty much just props, and they know it.

Watching it is just silly. I guess it would be fun to do but I don't even see the point of the weapons other than annoying the victim.

Yeah, I've seen some vids on SCA before, and I'm pretty sure American SCA has a lot of different rules than eastern SCA. Funny thing is, SCA stuff comes up alot in hospi ts since there are a couple members that do that shit.
