I was thinking of changing hero to an alt but I can't risk it, way too many assets tied to my character, so some dev comments would be nice.

Could always give away the fief and gear on your character to a faction-mate, and then have them transfer back when you switch your main to an alt

You can do it just fine, actually. I think Forgo's problem was that he deleted his other character. I have switched to my alt(Roman Triarii) to retire him quicker. Then After switching, I put it BACK to Anders until that alt is ready to hit 29-30 again. No problems doing a double switch at all.

FCC's Bale did it too. Several others have and no reported problems from switching. I do believe it's something special and not the norm for that to happen.

yeah i took a risk and did it the first day or so it was available and it worked fine for me.
