I am bored of all the siege towers in battlemaps as we wouldn't camp already enough now we have a siege tower in the middle of a desert, on a frozen lake, within another Tower which is already there and in other places which doesn't make sence at all. Don't misunderstand me i love it that we are able to build that stuff but only if it is really needed in my opinion.

I've only seen one siege tower that was awesome. We were in a battle map, defending a village. We won 3-4 rounds. Then the other team decided to camp a hill outside the village, but someone built a siege tower, we filled it up with people and took it to the hill. When we were very near the hill, we rushed them and won  :).

All the other times I've seen it used for camping, with usually bad results. The people get splited in two groups (siege towerers and not), and if someone goes to destroy the tower and achieves it, a lot of people die and the round is lost.

In Battle mode you should automatically drop construction sites as you pick them up/equip them, much like defenders in siege automatically drop siege shields.

Sure, it's funny to fight over a siege tower and silly things like that, but constructions sites are mainly for Strategus. If anything, it should require some more materials, since in Strategus there's no time limit and usually more players it's feasible to build siege equipment there, but on a battle server...

Wait a few weeks. People will get smarter when using them and i'm sure the novelty of the towers will wear off a bit.

If you start rebalancing immediately you do not account for people just wanting to try it. Also, i think the playerbase needs a bit of practice using them.

I like the siege towers as an option.

I tried them pre patch on duel server and think it was needed too much materials to finish them to be any good even on siege maps. Now they are builded too fast instead of ladder spa we got siege tower spam.

What i'd like to have are spiked fences against cav instead of siege towers in battle maps.

Quite awesome when people use it to attack a village, for example.
But too much exploit, too much camping (btw, I aven't yet seen a team camping a siegetower win) and too buggy... That's a pity.

Same for catapults, they just mess with the maps level design, making it sometimes totally unfair.

That, i think, is the saving grace of the towers right now. It seems the towers often leave the tower-building-team at a disadvantage. I've seen a few successfull towercamps, but most fail because team splits.

One thing that kinda bugs me: siege shields now take 2 slots, but a siege tower is easily built. Only 6 slots are needed, thus nobody seems to use the siege shields anymore. Perhaps we need to balance it a bit more.

Also, when the construction site dupe bug is fixed, we'll probably see less towers.

I know some people having fun with it  :lol:

All tough I don't see the fun in it i find it rather stupid and pointless the only good thing from all of this is the catapult and healing tent..

Seige towers have made my team lose moar then once just like phazh says the team gets split and get raped leave them stupid towers for seige maps along with catapults.

Give us anti cav pike enplacements and healing tents. for battle maps also makes more sense

Perhaps you should ask an admin to come in if you see that. Building a siege tower tower is fun once as a novelty... but three times in a row should not be allowed.

Please get rid of them now. Just a quick, small patch to remove siege towers and catapults so that people stop dicking around with them (especially towers) and actually try to play seriously. They serve zero purpose in battle mode other than to just let people behave like assholes.

Generally I've found that whichever team builds a siege tower loses. Their effect is to split the team into those who stay in the tower and those who don't.

remove siege towers and bring back construction sites, they served well against cav and as a cover for ppl. I miss epic barricading in the village.
