Eh ... A bit harsh, no ? ;)

So, it would be Heavy Warbow + 15 to 27 arrows and a short sword ?

It remains a bow , it's not a great/long maul or a flamberge... And as the accuracy  will probably be ... mediocre, to not say very bad, so why do it 3 slots ??? 15000g is already huge dude , it's a good armor you know ? Like a Coat of plate and things like this... You can repair a 45 armor stuff leg/body/head/ and mail gauntlets included with upkeep's gold of this item ... I think that's enough

The longbow was made of yew and used during war.

Longbow = yew war bow.  That is why it is so powerful and slow!  It's about as powerful as bows get.

Anything more would be entering the realm of fantasy!

the stats that you posted, looking at them atm i don't think anyone will use this weapon.

plus i think the developers will only look into adding new items if the model of it is already made and is working

I can dig it. If only because the number of options for bows/xbows is way smaller than any other category. As mentioned before the accuracy debuff from using such a high damage bow would make it less effective. I'm actually always for adding more items...

Accuracy is the sacrifice to do damages. Anyway, people will use this item because as said before in the OP, it would be the plated charger of bows. Expensive, inaccurate, slow, but a true murderer.

This is a cool video about bows. And I couldn't laught more about the end when archers just run like my old friends like in cRPG

@ Garrison : You can see that there are several degrees of power for bows (you see the guy drawing a stronger longbow), this is the Heavy Hew War Bow we want to add to the game, a bow that requires training and strengh .

Haha I just happened to watch that video too today.  There's some great quotes in it about the attitudes of the fighting men of the time (basically summed up that archers are un-chivalrous and pussies).  And how it was "overpowered" to hit people who can't fight back.

Like I've said before, people in the middle ages were probably crying about ranged my old friends too, but they didn't get to cry "nerf nerf nerf" to the devs until they nerfed bows.  they actually had to use tactics and teamwork to overcome them.

True. They used  shieldwalls, which bright cRPG players don't always do when they have 15 archers right in front of them. Lesson of the video = get a shield or go hide somewhere

Also, like in RL, see how it's hard to kill a guy which is wearing a plate. Loads of arrows just bounce. In crpg, when I had 6 PD, I was like those poor archers who were trying to kill heavily armored knights.

A great counter to archers in the middle ages were cavalry charges.  Even light cavalry could drive archers from their position or slaughter them.

The key is they did a GROUP cavalry charge...not one or 2 rambo cav randomly swerving all over the map.  I wish someone would organize cav charges in CRPG it would be awesome to have like 6 heavy cav in a wedge charging a group of archers.

Large cav charges don't really work in crpg.  Even if you keep everyone in a straight line, if one cavalry in front of you (if you have more than one rank of cavalry) gets slowed down or stopped on some infantry scum (lol infantry stopping horses with their bodies) then you have a massive backup of cavalry.  It would certainly be cool if there was bonuses for formations (like cavalry charges, or better bonuses for shieldwalls/infantry formations).  Also would be cool (and I know people would cry) if archers firing in groups were able to get some sort of bonus as well (not sure what the bonus would be, maybe added damage  )

cRPG should get a proper teamwork. I think everyone agrees about this ;)
