Heavy YewWarbow

Currently we have the longbow, which is cool and good.

But i want a  thicker longbow with more damage.

Like those:

The left one is the one yew warbow

It would be the flamberge or the plated charger of the bows, really expensive but with one suprior positive thing, like dmg and length for the flamberge or bodyarmor and HP for the plated charger.
Yew Warbow
missile speed: 35
weight: 6
accuracy: 90
difficulty: 8
speed rating: 40
thrust damage: 45 cut
slots: 2
Can't use on horseback
20,100

It should be so inaccurate because of the draw weight and the just balance between the stats.
And a slow missile speed because of the heavy arrows. (In RL)

lol ... a bit less damages and it would be perfectly balanced ... 45 dmg + arrows can 1 shot a guy with 30 body armor

And if you add a bow with 8 pd ... none will take it, and the  malus for accuracy will be huge ; I suggest 7 .

I think it's a good idea, a op bow... hmmm
much archers have 8pd in normal build.

How about making it where it is like most expensive weapons. You think to yourself why is this so much more expensive when it only does a little bit more damage? So less damage like 40 max damage, and make it slower then the longbow.

Cool idea but WAY too high damage, maybe 37 max.
And in my opinion it should have the best accuracy and missile speed; Flamberge has best length and damage, so should the Warbow but accuracy and speed rather than length :).
Also the Longbow is already very expensive as the upkeep is extremely common, honestly I would reduce Longbow price and give the Warbow the current price.

Finally it could require ~21 strength so people need to invest in more strength, which would cause their build to make them less accurate and mobile.

On a side note, I think arrows should affect missile speed and trajectory.

I don't get why people complain about archery upkeep. I went a gen as an archer with longbow, bodkins, and langes and I gained money. Is it because I used only one pack of arrows?

I always thought the c-rpg long bow was a reference to the English Long Bowmen (who used Yew bows)...so your request seems redundant with what we already have.

The model of the current longbow looks atleast not like a yew longbow, as you can see in the picture the yew warbow is made out of the strong and dark wood from the inside of the yew tree to give the bow a strong spine and at the smoother wood from the yew tree so that it becomes a natural spring.

The model of the rusbow looks like that at the moment, what i dont really understand.

How about making it where it is like most expensive weapons. You think to yourself why is this so much more expensive when it only does a little bit more damage? So less damage like 40 max damage, and make it slower then the longbow.

It is already slower than the current longbow and yew wood is very expensive. All those stats are just a rough idea.

Just as a sidenote:
The english longbow was usually made out of yew wood. Itr has very good caracteristics because of the combination of hard and elastic wood (see the different colours in the post of arrowblood). So it kind of works like a composite bow.
This is the cause why in great parts of europe there are hardly any Yew-trees left. they were all chopped down and shipped to england. They are still protected trees in germany.
So yes

Those stats look a bit silly.

You'd vastly outdamage arbalests in a shot by shot comparison.

With those stats, the bow would be so inacurate that it could be compared to throwing ... I suggest as I said much lower damages, and maybe a better speed missile. (And then, with the slowness of the speed for log arrows and the huge price , this bow would be balanced). But according to a Tydeus's post, damages reduces A LOT the accuracy of the bow (long bow is the most inacurate because of damages). So, it needs at least 103 or a thing like that. But even with this accuracy, it won't be used with highter armors than Heavy aketons or byrnies, because it seems to be already pretty inaccurate ...

Stats I propose:
(click to show/hide)
(repairs are highter than arbalests at initial stats, which is a nonsense ...).

But to see this bow added , you need a good 3D model Arrowblood. Ask Dave or Jarold to make a decent model from actual longbow. Then, just go on IRC chat to poke them and say that you have stats , and the model+code for it.

You could lower the cost to 15k or 16k and make it 3 slots.
