What is the best 1h sword?

Long Espada is fantastic. You get enough reach that it is harder for everyone to just S key out of your swing then hit you in the face... it also has a wicked stab if you get good with it. The Broad Short Sword is also really damn good even after the recent nerf, it has good cut and a good stab and good speed just short reach. Grosse Messer is cool too but the stab sucks, if you are ok with not having a good stab I would just take an axe.

I have two issues with the LEE:
* The sideswings are really weak versus somebody with heavy armor (which is probably well over half of infantry in NA at this point, including me).
* Due to its length, the LEE turns really slowly during stabs. This is less of an issue if you have an athletics advantage, but it can be a nightmare versus a well armored, higher athletics enemy who backpedals and strafes around a lot.

I would say the Langes Messer is pretty good. It has good speed, length, and damage. It is an all rounder weapon, great for anyone to use.

I hate stabbing, far too many times have I glanced and been punished for it, therefore I use weapons that don't have stabs! Such as:

Steel Pick - fast and 31 pierce at +0, only downside is 64 length, so you want higher athletics to use properly
Niuweidao - Very fast weapon (101 speed), I've been using this currently and with around 100wpf minimum I rarely glance.
Military Cleaver - A whopping 35 cut weapon, also the longest of the 3, also the slowest. Looks unique too.

I will forever be a fan of the Langes Messer. It looks cool (imo), its got descent stats, including a nice range(for 1h).

Ofcourse its still a matter of opinion really. I just go for looks. Most of them have pretty similar stats anyway and in the field it still comes down to how well skilled you are. Exept if you are in between 1h blades or 1h hammers. In which case the difference is speed, one having knockdown and one having bluntdamage(better against heavy armor) instead of cutdamage.

In my opinion you should take an average 1h for saving money 

With my 1h/shielder I use the normal Sword, it has 24 pierce, 28 cut which is both not bad, has a decent length and is pretty fast. Actually I perform best with this one, when I take some fancy shit I kinda "feel" better thus making more mistakes.
Sword is best sword. Costs only 218 gold upkeep.

I really love the elite scimitar so thats the sword id advise u to try. Its extra fun when ppl complain that its op in some way

What do you think of the Paramerion?

For battle I was recently playing with a +3 grosse, and I really liked it. It's short for 1v1 combat, but it's great for large meatgrinder fights. 37 cut means people die quickly, and 100 speed lets you double swing or otherwise sneak hits in a lot. It might be worth carrying a longer 1h as a backup for 1v1 engagements.

If you don't mind facehugging and are able to dodge kicks, the Italian Falchion is the best 1h sword you can use.

On horse there is only one sword to choose. Arabian Cavalry Sword. It does high damage and got range no other sword can reach. All that matters on horse.
On foot there are several very good weapons but mostly depends how your build is and how you play. CBA to write more..

This,best sword i ever had. I liked Liuyedao too,it is awesome sword.
Broad short sword is nice too,but you need to make agile build for it,every sword have it's playstyle.
I had almost all good 1h swords in my hands,but i always used NCS,can't play with anything else.

Arab guard sword is definitely worth consideration, very similar stats to the NCS and a very unique weapon.
