Upgraded video card, getting worse performance

I run 8 gb DDR3 memory, AMD quad core (3.2ghz), and was running a GTX 460 that was a beast.  It recently died on me and I replaced it with a GTX 560 OC (which has higher benchmarks than my 460). 

I used to be able to run c-rpg and Civ 5 without any issues with FPS in c-rpg (would stay maxed out at 120fps).  Now when I do the exact same thing, my FPS will drop in c-rpg to anywhere from 70-100 fps. 

Anyone have any ideas why this might be?

Ive always used Shogun 2 as a way to test my graphicscard abilities. No graphicscard can take max teams with max ammounts of units all fighting at the same time with ultra high settings. So you tweak the setting/options/teams/unitammounts abit so you see with your own eyes how much it can take.

I would quess its driverrelated. Mybe your motherboard is aged? Also not sure at all, but mybe the powersupply? Althou then it simply would go to sleep inside your PC while it is running when it doesnt receive enough power.

Yea, those things often come down to driver problems.

Try to remove them completely and reinstall clean. See if it helps...

Mount&Blade hates new drivers.

Every gpu upgrade is actually a downgrade with this games engine.

Yeah I'm leaning towards something related to the drivers, and likely the settings being changed on the new set of drivers I have for the 560.  I'll need to check all my driver settings when I get home

Newer architecture doesn't work as well on the older software as the gpu's built for it, even with better hardware in a number of cases that I've seen. Play a new game, use a new graphics card, play an older game, use an older graphics card. Awhile back, if you got a newer graphics card, it almost didn't matter what you were playing, it would get better performance. No longer a gimme.
