Switching your Main Character.

Apologies in advance if this has been answered elsewhere, couldn't seem to find anything on it.

I was just curious on the details of switching your main character, I want to switch an alt to be my main for a few Strat battles but I'd inevitably want to switch it back after, so I'm curious as to if there's a cooldown, or limit on how many times you can do it. Thanks in advance.

Making another character your hero will take 7 days. Meanwhile you can just continue doing strategus stuff. After 7 days the new character will replace the current one and from then on leads your party and takes over any open mercenary jobs, faction positions and fief ownerships.

So no mention of a limit, or cool down between.. just takes 7 days for the change

someone who has done this please say if anything fucks up when you do it... like if it bugs out your strat gold or gear or fief or whatever

I'm not going to lose my main character for this, right?

What happens to strat gold, gear, and troops? do they remain in the same faction? what if you own a fief?

Your main remains your main character. Your strat character is called your 'Hero'.
When you change your hero, after the 7 days the new hero takes the place of the old one.. You keep all your money, items, faction, fiefs etc.
So the name on strat changes and you can then only use your new hero for strat fights.

There has been no mention of any limit of how many times you can change 'hero' the process just takes 7 days each time.

They are the same, internally the current hero is the "main" character. That also means that the STF restrictions (no respec/rename anytime) apply while a STF is the current hero.

Targeted char is my STF, so yea

But keep in mind that strat gives a lot of xp, and if you switch to STF you won't benefit from that I no longer have the need for xp, so stf is ideal for meh

Everything should go smooth according to the devs, i'll let you know in 1 day and 12 hours if it worked for me Expecting no problems 
Do expect a lot more STF strat chars in a week though, i've set my goal on getting a 60% cav battle, and a 60% ranged battle

All went well, troops gold ticks renown inventory and fiefs went along with no problems ^^

be nice to get exp for this alt... with bale near gen 30 does not make much sense to keep retiring him.
