I don't see a point in trying to keep players who only grief others all the time. He had 10 bans in one year, 5 of them alone for teamkilling (the others were chat abuse including racist comments and griefing). Are you really missing this guy that much? I doubt that the mod will die only because he is banned. 

Edit: I also can't understand why you have to open a topic in General Discussion only because a person you probably don't even know got banned for a while. Do you have access to his ban history or why do you think that you can rate this decision here?

If it is okay to ban him, it's also okay to report him. I don't know how you can draw the line there?

I don't know Alighar, and perhaps he is a nice guy, but if he is repeatedly TKing but doesn't learn anything, I think it's okay to apply the "learning through pain"-method as last resort. Every time he TKs someone he is spoiling someone's fun, and if he does it on a regular basis, he is spoiling the fun of many people on a regular basis, which seems enough of a reason for a 1 month ban.

Seriously, if I am in doubt I could hurt a teammate, I rather don't swing. I don't know how often I died because I was afraid of hurting team mates. When in doubt just don't attack. If you don't have that self discipline, then grow it. If you can't, our friendly admins will support you with bans until you have learned your lesson.

Not every tk is always immediately reported, so he probably tked more than those who reported him
after the 6th (!!) ban in a year, a month is quite okay

From what i've personally ever seen of Alighar, he has always been a cunt - chat abuse, racism, grieving in various forms... He isn't a repeat offender with minor rule breaks, he has been steadily working towards an essay/permaban. Definitely not someone whose absence will hurt the mod. If anything, letting crap like that slide will only worsen the ingame atmosphere and make more people play less.

lol im the sort of player that never bothers with reporting in game, on this forum or on IRC. i get teamhit like atleast 1-2 times every life and teamkilled like 1 in every 6 deaths or something. never do i think of reporting or raging at them.

Have to? No, I don't have to, but I can and I want, so I do. Dunno what's your problem with that. Anyway, according to me bans shouldn't be so long, punishment should be dealt out swiftly and inevitably, but not neccesarilly vrey harsh (vide Cesare Beccaria ).

I think empty servers hurt game much more than guy who's teamkilling 3 guys in 1 month, but maybe you're right. Personally I don't care as much as some other players about teamkills, insults and so called "racism", but not everyone is like me I guess ;P
