I'd honestly prefer proximity xp/gold over the multiplier.

I'm nostalgic about many games I've played over longer periods of time, but I must admit cRPG is not really one of them.

This also brought a manly tear to my eye :'( I must say having played cRPG since 2010, I find it hard to articulate how much I miss those days. The exp barn is a great example of how fun cRPG used to be. I don't want to come across of slagging off cRPG as we know it today, I just really wish we were able to revert back to that gold and exp system, because basically it was just so much more fun in many ways. The multiplier has made this game so much more serious and the feeling of grinding is much more of a factor.

Many playing cRPG will not have experienced how cRPG was when I first started playing, and its a shame. But as Apsod has rightly pointed out, it is these old videos that really do bring back nostalgia and it is quite sad that we may never know the same caliber of excitement and crazyness. I am still positive though for the new exp system and will continue to wait patiently.

I remember starting around the time of Proximity and I loved it back then.  It was one of those things where dying did not really make me feel bad because you still got exp and gold for a bit after dying due to radius bonus

It was short lived though, I only got a glimpse of the fun until things started over with multipliers.

I'd honestly prefer proximity xp/gold over the multiplier.

Back then, cmp was member of Mercenaries and just started to mod cRPG. Mercs had great influence on chadz and rest of the dev team. Back then, they were elite army and couldn't compare to big clans (Fallen, Templars, Shogunate). Dozen of them, no matter how skilled they were, didn't have much impact on final outcome. Especially when we all used to play on 200 man Pecores server because EU official servers were laggy mess.

I remember it very well, you could always hear (or read) one of them QQing how proximity is nonsense and how it takes skills away blah blah. They all hated Finn and his student, Finished (known as Michael).

Dev team (chadz) made the change but good portion of responsibility for that change goes to cRPG clan Mercenaries because they did everything they could to influence chadz to make that specific change.

Btw. Pecores stopped being active after that change.

Remember kids, what Leshma says is based on 'facts'. So next time you see a Merc on the server, try and kill him for giving us this damn multi system.  :D
