The ultimate invention by man is a metal spork sharpened on one side so it can cut, selling them 500 euro a piece!
1H stab is the fastest, strongest and longest 1H animation. There's no reason NOT to use it in all instances. I don't know if it's OP, but it's boring. 1H used to be fun because you had a fast (left), long (right) and the most devastating attack (stab) and had to choose the best attack for each occasion.

I grew up using both chopsticks and forks and use the one appropriate to the task. It does seem you use chopsticks more with Asian food, but it is form dictating function. Most American food consists of a big hunk of uncut meat or sandwiches, or some kind of stew, soup, chowder, gumbo. Those just aren't chopstick style foods. Besides, for some reason when eating chinese food and going in with a fork, I get this thought of metal tines scraping my teeth and quickly switch to chopsticks.

Growing up in a very culturally diverse section of the United States lead to my love for cultural traditions, and part of this comes from having used chop sticks efficiently since I was probably five years old.  I get the same thing Granpappy does when I try to eat Asian food with a fork, it's very similar to my disliking towards popsicles because I hate the sensation of the wooden stick sliding across my teeth.

I remember eating at a Thai restaurant when I was eight or nine years old, and the owner came out surprised that I, a young Caucasian male was more proficient with chopsticks than her Asian children were.  Fuck McDonalds.

Learnt to use chopsticks and used them exclusively for 2 weeks whilst i was in China, they're incredibly handy for eating chinese food, especially such as boiled rice, much more so than "western" utensils - it's as if they're an extension of your fingers.

Definitely not a case of forks and spoons being better than chopsticks, it's just that they're better suited to our food.

I disagree.  How is picking up rice with chop sticks better suited than using a spoon or fork?

I regularly purely use a knife for anything that doesn't require a spoon, just stick it into whatever you want to eat, or cut shit in smaller pieces and then stab it, all it really requires is you not being silly when you stick sharp shit into your mouth.
1H stab is the fastest, strongest and longest 1H animation. There's no reason NOT to use it in all instances. Well, proper rice is served stuck together in small clumps, that are very easy to pick up with chopsticks. Doing so with fork or spoon would be way harder and would probably end up with you either chasing these clumps around your plate or breaking them up and ending with separate rice grains that you can't do anything about.

Scooping a rice clump (sticky rice) is really easy with a fork, so is scooping loose rice

The critical instant remains when you have to use your fingers/knife to get the last evasive fuckers to get onto your fork.

But then you remember you are a rich westerner and you don't have to bother with getting every last bit of food because there is more where that came from. Or you use a spoon, or eat from a plate and use your knife and fork.

Chopsticks are a retarded way of eating food that does not even get close to the efficiency of fork and knife combo, and which should have been discarded the moment they met their masters. I am principally against using them, luckily I live in a country where you rarely even see them even in chinese restaurants. Otherwise I would ask for a fork and knife, yes I am that guy. If you can't eat that bowl of rice with a knife, fork and spoon ptx, you're doing it wrong.

By that logic the right way to eat everything is making shakes...

Have you actually ever learnt to use chopsticks? Your dumb rant makes you sound like you haven't even tried - in which case you should be ashamed.

I do think people are bringing up good points, and lets keep in mind, it's not that serious of a discussion, but still interesting to discuss
