Suggestions in General Discussions

Forum mods should not move ill placed threads to the propper sections. Its merely encouraging players to open threads wherever they think they get more attention(which is 99% General Discussions), since there is no penalty connected.
Just lock them up with a reminder to place threats in the appropriate section. Even better would be to give a slight warning imo.

general discussion is a good place to go if an idea isnt a suggestion yet.  I usually go there first to evolve the idea by discussing it,  and if the idea is actually worthy of a suggestion,  I open a thread there.

Im not trying to evaluate what is a suggestion and what not. Yet, im quite a bit annoyed when i (pretty often tbh) see suggestions, apearently purposedly ill-placed in GD to get more attention than they may get in SC, which potentially results in a cascading disorganised forum. Also people tend to forget about rules and structures if they are not sufficiently reminded 
Its an obvious form of spam (purposedly or not) and it should be treated like that and not "nicely being moved to propper section" by a friendly mod, who merely shoots his own foot.

edit:actually my metaphoric snowball effect was more refering to the deflative awareness of people, about where to put their post resulting in a trend to put any sort of posts just into GD ....
regarding the "amount of posts increasing" this cant be claimed, since the overall amount of posts in a certain time interval is limited by the amount of posters and their activity and also not affected by the snowball effect

I'd like to clearify some possible missinterpretation of my suggestion, which is not aiming to establish a military dictatorship in the forums or so, rather than trying to make things a bit easier for everyone in the end 
I also like to point out that the effort spent to lock a thread and leave a reminder , would perhaps not be higher than moving it in the right place. Its more about the different way , how spam posts are handled and the resulting consequences.
And (again) for the point about "strictness" in forum policies, i dont think that a slight warning is overdo; furthermore , it was meant as an option.

There are lots of threads in the general discussion that don't belong there
But I agree Micah, they could have been fewer.

I also agree with Torben. If it's more of an idea than a suggestion, it's probably better to post it there. I've done so myself a few times.
