Well, this game was released out of early access a while ago. And I am having a real good time with it. I am surprised that there aren't other people interested in Grim Dawn here.

While we all know that it has Titan Quest flavor than anything else, I can claim (like many other players) that it has been the only recent game that could capture the Diablo 2 spirit. I don't know guys. Don't let it rot in your Steam library, if you bought it back in the day and forgot all about it later.

Also, Radament, I think you will love the lore in this.

I've been putting some hours into GD lately, and I absolutely love it. I have had to use Grim Cam to increase the FoV so that I could play without feeling like I was trapped in a tiny box though.

It is such a good game. I can't believe that I am building a 5th character from scratch and still loving it. Thanks for the heads up about that FoV mod too. I didn't know it existed. Might want to use it myself.

Free content update announced in their forum:

Quote
Little is known about the Witch Gods, but that is precisely how the Three prefer to operate, from the shadows, away from prying eyes and the heavy hand of the Empire. The Inquisitors are well-versed in sniffing out followers of the heretical faith, but even they have not been able to completely eradicate what is widely considered a danger to the integrity and well-being of the nation. But that is the rhetoric of the ignorant, of those afraid of what truths may lie within the shadows.

Then there are those who had witnessed the power of the eldritch realm, and the gods that reside within. They are the raving thralls of Dreeg, the power-hungry worshippers of Solael and the scheming followers of Bysmiel. To them, the Empire only seeks to obscure the real truths, to silence them from spreading the message bestowed upon them by the Three.

With the Empire in shambles and the world forever changed by the arrival of the Aetherials, something has stirred within the eldritch realm. And as their hour nears, thousands of believers worshipping in secret await the call when at last the Witch Gods rise from the eldritch weave and reclaim their world.

The Luminari can no longer stop you, the Empire cannot condemn you. And if you seek out the Hidden Path, you too shall lift the veil that blinds you from the darker truths. You too shall learn of the Witch Gods.
When west germany annexed east germany, nobody moved a finger too.

Yep, they are bringing in what they call the witch gods. There will obviously be 3 of them and I already know where their dungeon gates will be. The gates were there all along. A curious eye can't have missed them.

Here is my latest character wreaking havoc. It's an Ultos warder. Took me a really long while to become this godly, but I did it. This character is now literally a walking thunder storm. I cranked up offensive ability as much as I can. So I really crit everything in sight hard and well.

Got my first effect from Devotion running by now.
'Summon an eagle' or some such.
That thing is mighty powerful, working like a thunderbolt, splitting inside enemies while dealing tons of damage...

Falcon Swoop. It is quite handy for crowd control during early stages of the game, as it has a chance to activate on attack. There are some other superb devotion skills on the outer constellations. Just make sure that if you pick an "on-crit" devotion skill, you need to have enough offensive ability to trigger it. That would mean around 2000 offensive ability by ultimate. Otherwise you will have a hard time having them triggered, especially against bosses.

Doing this from work so I might have to update it later. It's pretty close.

You are on your early stages of an Arcanist build I see. It is normal to feel overwhelmed at this stage.

If Arcanist is going to be your primary class, there are a number of possible builds that focus on the various skills. For now, in your very first try, I'd advise you to go respec most of those points and crank up the entire Panetti's Replicating Missile line (all branches including Distortion, Supercharged and Proliferation). You'll realize that only when you arrive at Ultimate difficulty will it feel a bit underpowered. And that can be easily solved.

For now, investing in secondary skills like Trozan's SI love youhard is really not necessary. Take your time until Panetti's is maxed. Then depending on whether you think you need it or not, you can invest some points in Mental Alacrity to reduce the energy costs. Next thing you should do is to try and max Maiven's Sphere of Protection (Conversion is optional, though you could put just 1 point in there if you absolutely must). It will give you the edge you need to not get squished instantly.

After this, you should try and get Mirror of Ereoctes to the level where recharge takes only 20 seconds. It is a great panic button to get you out of sticky situations. Consider investing 1 point in Nullification. It can quickly save you from harmful effects and it will peel off useful auras like damage reflection from bosses and mobs.

Next crank up Fabric of Reality and Reckless Power for added damage. It is also a good idea at this point to get Iskandra's Elemental Exchange (don't get Manifestation), Overload and Elemental Balance for more damage. If you think you don't want to spare too many points for a second class at this point, you can go ahead and max Inner Focus for that sweet offensive ability.

When picking devotions, make sure you are investing your points on elemental damage, resistances, recovery skills like Giant's Blood, Tip the Scales, Dryad's Blessing etc. For one, I definitely advise getting Elemental Storm and tieing it to your Panetti's Replicating Missile to create destruction all around the place.

The rest will depend on your choice of items. There are some sweet legendary items which could suddenly overpower you. It's all a matter of finding them over the course of time.

About the second class, possibilities are endless. I can help you again, when you decide. At this time, focus on your Arcanist tree though.

Here's both of my Characters:
The OP SOB:
http://grimcalc.com/build/27cuzZ
Damage Per hit on this guy is 1450(2k DPS) This guy eats energy, though I tosted 2 bosses and a legendary in 3 seconds.(Oh his cunning is 400 Wit bonus's.)

And the Arcanist:
http://grimcalc.com/build/dNhIHK
Seems so weak only 900 dmg on panettis Missile, but I don't "really" have energy problems.
