Yeh, it could have been worse I figure.  Went from gen 91 to 31, but it seems fair based on a 3% bonus only never would have retired as often.

I'm a bit confused as to what I see on my screen...I went down to gen 6 and level 30 and I see

Shouldn't that have put me at gen 7 with +7.3m XP?  It sounds like if I retire I lose that 7.3m xp!  Doesn't seem to jive with the original post, unless I'm missing something.

No, it's intended. Your generation was recalculated and rounded down if your experience would put you at a fraction of a generation (ie from 14 to 10.6). That fraction's worth of a generation is added to your character's current experience total.

If i reach lvl 31 now and retire, which will make me gen 8, can i heirloom something or ill lose it when we will get our 'heirloom points' and only get 6 heirlooms like at the reset when i came back gen 7?

You can safely retire. You already lost your heirlooms, anyway.

Since must of my retirement were done before the first theft, I'm now down 3 gen but I get one more heirloom!!!

Thanks be to chadz and Fasader for coming up with a fair solution to the heirloom issue. I also feel like the XP bonus thing helps with those of us who don't have as much time to grind as we used to. I am satisfied.

I would like to take this opportunity to apologize once more to both chadz and the community at large for my rage post the other day regarding this issue. Thanks for understanding.

I have no heirlooms and am now gen 11(which the same as my "heirloom" level would be) but I'm cool with it whenever I find out how to reheirloom stuff

Hmmm,
Nothing changed on any of my characters.  They're all the same gen, with the same heirlooms as before (along with the same missing items, which you explained so that's no issue).  So I'm a bit confused.

*Nevermind, I have no heirlooms, but my level and gen are the same.... weird.
