So why does my char have no change in xp at all? My mate who is only 1 gen above but was a similar level gained almost 2million xp. Mine shows no change in anything except heirloom reset.

It's because of the new calculation of gens, at lower gens you probably won't notice a thing, but at higher ones people get figures with decimals. The extra gen, like gen 8.5, is translated into gen 8 with the added exp of a half gen.
Don't mind the fish.

So why does my mate who's gen 6 get 2 million extra xp when I'm gen 5 and I don't get anything? And we were the same level when the reset happened. Not really understanding the system.

To be honest chadz i never thought of that solution and i have to say: it is totally fair.
Thank you for that solution i appreciate your work.

solution... well i reckon its is not a very good timed solution, for me anyway. i hate the 30 to lvl 31 xp gap it takes soo long but i wanted to heirloom my katana so after busting my ass i finnaly reached lvl 31 and retire, then three days later WHOOPY bloody doo reset all heirlooms. at the moment all that grinding is wasted. can i atleast just have my tempered katana back iam having a shit day as it is.

No wonder gen reset was in order, I as a casual player am glad that I kept my gen 3. Would've been pretty mad if I lost anything thanks to those lifelfess gen 40+ grinders. This has got to be the best thing of this patch yet.
Don't mind the fish.

What are you talking about? Only heirlooms are reset, there will be a screen of some kind where you can heirloom your weapons again without retiring. Just like last time, I think the message this time will be:
' Noes! Donkey chadz lost your heirlooms while moving your caravan! But using the golden coins he crapped out of his arse, you can buy an x amount of new ones!'
Don't mind the fish.

well, it's the same with me, slightly, though i've lost some heirlooms, fuck it, i'm gonna heirloom something different this time, which i think will be better, i think i'm just gonna carry on aswell, i can't be arsed retiring again, all good, i should have 9 points to make heirlooms out of, think i'll do my horse this time, thou are all doomed...

Xp cap is 1450 so anyone gen 16 or over gets the same xp no matter what.  I actually don't plan on retiring anymore myself, its too long a grind to 31 now.

To the other person with the friend with 2 million more xp who started with 1 more gen, you might want to ask him if he is now the same gen as you?  He likely gets 2 million more xp but loses 1 more gen.
