To the topic: Panos being Panos...This is just bullshit. Just look at Europe 100 years ago and now. Steps have been taken and it has improved greatly, but until the World Wars, there was constant conflict in Europe. However, after WWII, measures were taken to prevent this, and that was what encouraged the birth of what would come to be the EU (which is, after all, a union of countries with different types of Christianity culturally and historically).Eastern countries could very well try to organise in a big Muslim entity (it has happened historically already), yet that would not be in the interest of the West, since if the other groups are divided, they are easily kept at bay, but if the Muslim countries joined forces they would become a decent superpower, Thus certain people meddle in their affairs, keep them busy fighting each other so that they do not turn into this.This intervention, however, can unite them even more against the West, if it is not done carefully, thus the double meanings, lies, etc...And what we call religious fanaticism, they might call by a different name, like revenge, holy war, etc, but it is after all the same shit that underlies in every human dispute. Well I can't see the east ever uniting. And to be honest the less the west get involved in the east in the better. As for the EU, the EU causes more problems for the UK then it solves.
