It's Microsoft, which is pretty damn similar to bad.

Well, that´s not true in terms of consoles.Xbox and Xbox360 both were really good consoles, and the new one seems to be pretty good, too(Too much emphasis on movement sensors and the like, I kind of prefer my good old gamepad, but still good).

I dont think the PS4 will differ much.In the end the biggest differences between the two will be, as always, their OS, Online-system(PSN Network and Xbox live)and the exclusive games on each console.

I think the rise in Sony value, and fall in MS value, shows that the market feels the xBox One will be weaker in terms of commercial success.

The problem with this hardware is that the elements that make players switch to the new console are increasingly artifical (don't get me wrong, this is not new). These consoles aren't even better than a current gamer pc, yet the previous generation was, at the time. Also the games seem like an excuse to shove lots of clutter down your throat (because they are losing in the tablet and phone market ? Probably). In the end this console tries to look like a pc but lacks the freedom that a pc implies. You get Skype, but I bet you won't be given the choice to try any other voiceconf software. All these unwanted features, you get them and you pay them, even if you only want a gaming platform. Problem is, who else but gamers wil buy a console with 8 cores and 8Gb of RAM ?

I also think the xbox and xbox 360 were good consoles, although afaik kinect is a complete disaster and having to pay to play online sucks badly.

If am going to buy any of the "next-gen" consoles, they will have to provide a new way of playing video games. I am talking about hardware. A 3d helmet+gloves kind of virtual reality stuff, or something else NEW. And a good set of software that utilizes that technology.
 
Does anyone even remember how AMAZING the first titles for PS3 looked on the big screen?! I had a good PC back then, but Resistance: Fall of Man and Genji: Days of the Blade really shocked me! Now, they will release one more CoD game on a 10 year old UT3 engine, and call it a 9.9/10 masterpiece... FUCK YOU!
 
But, I am sure lots of folks out there will enjoy all the "new revolutionary features" XBox has to offer... You can probably update your facebook-schmacebook status while browsing Justin Biebers tweeter-blog for only 0.99$! Yay!
