An advanced archer build question
« on: April 28, 2013, 11:54:33 pm »

I'm currently a Level 34 archer (pure archer). Specs:

Strength: 18
Agility: 27

Weapon points:0
One Handed:40
Archery:181

Skill points:0
Weapon Master:9
Athletics:8
Power Draw:6

I still have 69 Million to level 35 but I want to have an idea on what to do when I have a skill point and attribute point. I'm using MW bodkin and MW horn bow btw.

Now the questions:
1. put 1 attribute to strength (make it 19?) or agility (make it 28?)
2. put 1 skill to athletics (from 8 to 9) or just put it on iron flesh? I'm a pure archer so no powew strike (but you can convince me).

Probably I'll use my wpf points for 1h to make it more close to 50.

Now according to the calculators of this thread:
http://forum.meleegaming.com/beginner's-help-and-guides/crpg-newgen-character-builder-archer-damage-calculator/
increasing strength at this level slightly lowes my damage. So put it on agility? Is the calculator wrong or outdated ?

Let me know what you think. Thanks for any help on the matter.

Very nice build. i would convert the attrib to skills and put 3 in IF or u get 9th athletics and 2 IF. Only if u want to play 2 more years to become lvl 37 i would lvl up STR or AGI. IMO.

My archer is the exact same build. 18-27. I am only level 32, but I will have your exact build at 34.

At 35 I am just converting the attribute to 2 skills, max ath and put the 2 in IF. I mean, you COULD put 2 in PS if you want to melee, but you said you are pure, so put them in IF.
Don't bother getting melee wpf if you can still get a couple more archery wpf :)
Also, I have declared myself #1 NA hybrid thrower

As an NA admin, I am the most laid back and concerned with the ~fun of the game~ above all other factors. I've also been super inactive since Summer 2012. University takes most of my time, but I still find some time to play when i can.

I would've said 1 ath and 2 IF if you used long bow or rus bow. Since you use horn bow I'd say 3 ps.
I voted Gurnisson cause of his fucking bendy pike, I swear noone can roflcopter stab like he can.

I would convert arrtibute point and get 3 PS. Even as pure archer, some PS really helps so that peasants can't kill you in melee.

My UU key is broken incase you can't tell :D

how about respecing to Kesh's build?

27/15
then your bow is more like a melee weapon but still ranged  :)

In that case I can never shoot anybody as wpf decreases with higher pd.

2 IF and 1 ath sounds good to me now, although I cannot dismiss the nice looking 3 ps... Thanks guys.

2 if is shit for an archer , it will not make any difference , i would suggest to go for 2 ps since u might strike someone with ur melee wepaon and actually do some dmg instead of glancing...

IMO you should max up you ath and put points into PS.
It will give you some + for killing ppl, even with pickaxe or other one slot 1h
2 days ago i lvl up and now I'm lvl 34 with that

Strength:18
Agility:27

One Handed:12
Archery:183

Weapon Master:9
Athletics:7
Power Strike:1
Power Draw:6

in future if i'll reach lvl 35 i'll have probably 4 ps, because 7 ath looks fine for me :)
Archer forever :D

Also there is ''Cry more'' option. Put 1 point in athletics and 1 point in Dexterity to maximize your movement ability. And use ''rondel dagger in the face" as melee option (can be deadly even witnout PS, but need good timing and practice)

Short arming sword is better, regular is 29 pierce on stab and 29 cut on swing. Masterwork is 32 on both, and you can block with it :D

Archer forever :D
